About this cabin rental
The rustic cabin experience awaits at Long Lake in Makinen, MN! This property offers dock access to the west bay of the lake, outdoor fire ring, and an outhouse. This open cabin features a ladder to lofted sleeping areas. Bring your kayaks/canoes and fishing poles, this lake is perfect for paddling. There is public access at the opposite end of Long Lake for motorized boats. The lake is 374 acres and offers seven miles of shoreline!
As a primitive cabin, there is no electricity or internet available. Solar lights inside cabin. This is a dry cabin, there is no water or plumbing onsite. Bring your own water for drinking, dishwashing, etc. There is a propane cooking stove inside the cabin for use as well as a gas grill (propane provided) & Weber grill outside (charcoal not provided). 15 minutes to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth.

Our family stay at this lovely cabin was amazing! Very family friendly, clean and tidy. Great view of the lake and very peaceful. It was exactly what we were looking for. We caught a variety of fish off the dock and had a fish fry one night! Our host reached out multiple times to make sure our check in and stay went smooth and let us know we could reach out to them at anytime if we needed anything or had questions. I give this a 10 out of 10 and will be back in the future! Thanks for a great stay and sharing this beautiful property

It is like its described, a rustic cabin. We love camping, so it was nice not pitching a tent and sleeping on a comfortable bed. They had some basic utensils, battery operated candles, and cooking supplies as well. The dogs loved running around and swimming in the lake. We caught a few sunfish from the dock. It was super cool the first night we spent there was a wolf pack howling in the distance and owls hooting. The stars were beautiful.

The property was very quiet and peaceful. The cabin included everything needed for a short ‘off the grid’ weekend with our children, but still close enough to entertainment opportunities to take day trips.
