Our family had its first time experience in Placencia staying at the White House and it was fantastic! When we first arrived, the weather was perfect and the water was warm and beautiful. We all enjoyed a swim! Even as the weather deteriorated throughout our stay, we continue to enjoy a beautiful view of the beach and the ocean. The longer we stayed, the more we realized we had the perfect spot in Placencia Village. We never even had to rent a car or golf cart! We could walk everywhere! Also, a huge convenience that was not common to many rentals is that we could drink the water in the house! That made our stay so much more relaxing. The people and the food were fantastic but for one unfortunate experience buying fish from a woman named Brenda at the pier. We had tummy troubles after that, but in speaking to our caretaker, Nick, just before we left, she is notorious for selling unsafe fish. Beyond that, everything was amazing! We especially loved the Pickled Parrot on trivia night and Rumfish for lunch. You MUST have the lion fish carpaccio at Rumfish! The people were so friendly. And Kirstin was so helpful and responsive! There is no place better to stay than the White House in Placencia!

My wife and I decided to take our moms to Belize and found The White House online. The listing made it look like the perfect place -- near enough to walk to everything, but far enough from it to be quiet.
After booking, things only got better. The owners are not only super communicative, they go well out of their way to make sure your entire trip is stress free. Renting a car and driving from Belize City? Their step-by-step instructions, complete with interesting sights to see called out by mile marker, is just one example of how easy they make it. They also had a cute, useful, and tasty welcome gift.
The house itself is amazing. And, yes, the location is perfect. Beach out front. Grocery at the head of the road. Three minute walk to Placencia Beach Club and fifteen minute walk to the municipal pier via the sidewalk. Though, honestly, we could have stayed on the veranda the entire trip.
Oh, and be sure to book at least one night with Monique, the chef who will come to the house and cook for you.
We're already thinking of returning to The White House.

We stayed at the “White House” for a week and loved it. The view of the beach and ocean is truly spectacular and we really enjoyed the wonderful breezes off the water. The house is well built and furnished with an organized and well equipped kitchen. Check in was easy. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at the White House! The house is clean, comfortable and in the perfect location. Its private sand area and beach front location is perfect to hang out for the day. Easy to walk along the beach to the center of town or walk the other way for a nice sandy stroll. Monique cooked for us several times and she knows the local cuisine well! I highly recommend some meals at the house. Eduardo, the property manager, was friendly and helpful. You always feel there’s someone to call if you need them. Priceless for our first time there!

this is the second time i have stayed at the white house. i could not think of a better place to spend my birthday. the house and the views are amazing. kirsten & per the owners were so nice. thank you for the birthday note and cake. anyone who gets a chance to stay here will love every minute .

The home was extremely clean and well appointed with all of the amenities you could need during the stay. There were also several local snacks and beverages on the counter and in the refrigerator for us upon arrival. There was also a local cell phone there which we carried whenever we traveled to the local attractions she recommended. We never needed it but it provided great peice of mind.
The owner kept in contact in the week's leading up to the trip and notified us whenever COVID requirements changed.

This was our 4th time to stay at the White House and as usual it was amazing. Kirsten and Per are wonderful hosts and their on-site staff is superb. I hate to leave another 5-star rating as I think they deserve a 10-star rating! If you want to feel like you are at 'Your" home for a short getaway or long getaway, highly recommend the White House. And, corny as it sounds, you better Belize we'll be back at the White House soon!

I have been coming to Placencia for 17 years, and The White House was by far my favorite place to stay! The location is ideal, and it is just beautiful! The owners also go out of their way to provide EXCELLENT customer service in a time where even decent customer service is becoming a rare event. This property was perfect for our family vacation. Steps from the beach and the Placencia sidewalk, close to grocery stores and a lovely bakery it has everything you need! We spent another week at The White House in early June 2021. Our family, my wife and our two adult children, along with their spouses, had another amazing vacation. After a trip together there in March 2020, we asked our kids if they wanted to try a different place in Belize. They both agreed that this home is perfect and they were anxious to return and explore the Placencia community further. The White House accommodations, hospitality, and location is ideal for a small group who wants to spend time together while also going different directions to enjoy all that Placencia has to offer. The home has an amazing view of the ocean sunrise and a cool breeze all day long. The rooms offer enough space and cool off at night for anyone who wants to listen to the waves while sleeping. The kitchen and supplies are perfectly adequate for meal prep but we chose to enjoy the various restaurants and street vendors in the area. The location allows for simple walks down the famous sidewalk for shopping and dining or using the main street to access numerous shops, excursions, and food. The lack of a pool at the house is no concern as it only takes a few minutes and $5 to enjoy the Beach Club up the shore. The White House really is perfect for us and a home I would be proud to own. Thank you Per and Kirsten for sharing it with our family.

We spent the holidays at the White House in Placencia (Dec. 2018 into Jan. 2019) and had a fantastic time. The view is incredible and the accomodations are comfortable and clean. Three bedrooms were great for our crew of 4. Loved the outdoor shower off the master bedroom. The kitchen was great as we enjoyed cooking, mixing our version of Caribbean cocktails, and eating breakfast at home since not everyone gets up at the same time. Wi-fi was also great which meant the world to our video-editor son who needs fast internet. We did use the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night because of the humidity but there is a great breeze blowing through the house when the doors are open. The TV has more channels than anyone could possibly need (I got hooked on an Indian show that made no sense to me but was visually stunning and the kids got into Amazon Prime and Netflix so they were wanting for nothing). Nick took excellent care of us, as did Vilma. Having a washer and dryer meant packing less stuff! We rented a golf cart for the 2 weeks and enjoyed our drives in and around Placencia. By day 10 I was looking at Placencia real estate! One of the big grocery stores is at the end of the street, a 4 minute walk. Some of the restaurants in town were hit or miss though we had consistently excellent meals at Dawn's and The Shak. We also rented a car for a day and drove to Mayflower/Bocawina for ziplining and a waterfall hike. The boys went diving with Splash and enjoyed their trips. All in all a great vacation!

The White House is a beautiful home with fabulous views. The home is within walking distance to may good local restaurants and grocery stores. The restaurants are great and the kitchen is very well outfitted to prepare meals. There is a grill available for BBQs. Nick, the care taker, and Vilma, the caterer where very helpful. And, I highly recommend Vilma’s catering service.
The people of Placencia are friendly, welcoming and helpful. My son managed to sink a large SUV into soft sand on a side road, but the neighbors rallied and dug us out. The whole family is looking forward to visiting Placencia, the new friends we made, and the White House again soon.

Six of our family members stayed at the White House during our trip to Placencia to celebrate our daughters wedding. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The location was perfect - right there on the water with a breathtaking ocean view from the balcony, and close to the charming shops and restaurants. The house had everything we needed, plus some. We had the time of our lives, and we're grateful this home provided us with everything we needed to enhance our stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The house and property are fantastic. The house is very comfortable and makes you feel at home. There is plenty of things to do in Placencia. There are lots of beach bars and places to eat with in a short walk. Kirsten and Per where great to work with. They answered all my questions and made me feel welcome. I can not think of any where else I would want to stay. I would recommend The white House to any one going to Belize.

The White House in Placencia is perfect for everything from relaxing on the beach to walking over to local restaurants and bars and driving inland for day trips. The house was very welcoming and the beach was stunning. There's nothing better than feeling the cool ocean breeze throughout the entire house after opening up the large glass doors to the balcony.
There is plenty to do within walking distance in the village. Make sure to check out Barefoot Bar & Tipsy Tuna. We took a boat trip where snorkeled and caught fish. Our guide, Matthew, took us to a private island where he cooked up our freshly caught fish. It was delicious! All of the cafes and restaurants are delicious and all the locals are very friendly. I recommend checking out the local bowling alley, Jaguar Lanes just north in Maya Beach for any rainy days.
Make sure to ask Nick for some fresh coconut water! Can't wait to come back.

A fantastic place to stay with family and friends (probably the best in Placencia). It's close to everything and has anything you'd need. Staying at the White made our vacation effortless and relaxing.

The White House in Placencia was more than words. Per and Kirsten make sure the house is in pristine condition and have any amenity you could possibly think of, as well as any kitchen gadget you could think of. The view of the beach is breathtaking and there are so many places to relax and lay out with a book. The house is right at the end of the sidewalk to walk to most of the restaurants in town (our favorites were Tipsy Tuna and Barefoot Bar). We also went fishing and snorkeling with Matthew and made sure the fridge was always stocked with coconut water from Nick (so tasty!). The banana farms were all closed for the season when we went, but we took a trip to Ix Cacao, a cacao farm, and got to tour the farm and make our own chocolate! If you rent a car while you’re there, make sure to drive down to Turtle Inn and Maya Beach, too! They are resorts that have great food and pools, as well as being right next to the beach. Definitely will be staying here again!

Don't pass on this place!! Absolutely perfect for a vacation in Placencia. A safe and beautiful walking distance to everything Placencia has to offer - 5 minutes to the grocery store, 2-10 minutes to various restaurants and shops (for whatever vibe you're looking for- on the beach, tucked within the trees, indoors, outdoors, cheap fare, fancy meals, local dives, coffee, desserts), 5 seconds to the beach and a short 5-20 minute drive to resorts nearby. The house is spotless and fully stocked - all kitchen supplies, beach towels, bath towels, etc. The caretaker, who lives nearby, was easily accessible for anything we needed which is very comforting when in a new place! Highly recommend Sweet Dreams for their fresh fruits smoothies (5 min walk), Ixcacao for their cacao farm, chocolate making, and lunch tour (about 2.5 hours away), Barefoot Bar for dinner and drinks (5min walk), and Turtle Inn for lunch on the beach and to hang by the pool (5 min drive).

This VRBO is truly a gem. Incredibly comfortable and clean. The location is amazing and house is just steps from the water. The best part is the evening breeze on the balcony. I was able to walk everywhere in Placencia and it was super quick to grab a bite to eat. Really appreciated the ease of communication and remarkably pristine bathroom accommodations. Thank you!!

This is my fifth time in Placencia (fourth time staying this house) and the stay was awesome as usual. I came with my boyfriend and two other couples for a "couple's retreat" vacation. The house was wonderful - had everything we could possibly need and lots of space for the 6 of us. We came during August so it was rainy most early mornings and late evenings but mid-day was always sunny & clear. Even despite sargassum coming to Placencia, we had a wonderful stay & had plenty to do and places to relax. We highly recommend going to Ixcacao for a cacao farm tour (we recommend the Gold tour!) and stopping at Nim Li Punit on the way home. If you want to use a pool, we recommend going to Turtle Inn for a drink & a swim, or getting happy hour appetizers (3-5pm) (they're ALL delicious!) & coconut water at Maya Bistro and swimming in the pool or laying in a hammock. Sweet Dreams has great breakfast sandwiches and Rick's Cafe has great pizza. Barefoot Bar has tons of drink & food options - I recommend the coconut curry shrimp dinner! Top Value is right down the street from the house if you want to cook at the house (the kitchen has even tool/appliance you could possibly need!). Also ask Nick (the caretaker) for some fresh coconut water & coconut meat. Would highly recommend this house for any family, couples, or friends, and definitely plan on coming back!
