Vespera is a small nicely designed hotel, which made it feel very personal, and I received the warmest welcome on arrival, which to be honest is what I've come to know is characteristic of the lovely people of Heraklion city. The staff are the number one asset of this hotel. The location is great, it's very easy for drivers to get in to drop you off, and to pick you up for ferry/airport transfers, and it's a short walk into the centre of the city to cafes, restaurants, and shops. I stayed in one of their best rooms on the top floor, with lovely views over the sea and coastline. The bathroom was spacious with gorgeous floor tiles, and was very comfortable. The TV had a few cable channels, including netflix, which was just what I needed to chill before sleep. My little dog was welcomed with lots of love and affection, and it is so nice be able to stay with him. There is a small minibar fridge if perishables need a place to be stored, and a large sofa for chilling on with the tv, as well as a large balcony with table and chairs ( I was only there overnight so didn't use it), internet speed was quite good.
The light leaking around the blind in the morning did wake me earlier than planned - so if you are sensitive to light you might want to pack an eye mask. There was also a light inside the closet that stayed on - or at least I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, but because it is tucked away near the door it didn't overly disturb my sleep. There was also no cover on the quilt on the bed and I was worried about putting anything on the bed that might mark it, but maybe this is usual and it gets washed with the other linens, and it seemed clean. The shower didn't drain well, but I think this is more of a plumbing issue that all of Heraklion struggles with than the hotel, as I've had this in other hotels in the city too.

Small hotel with very stylishly decorated rooms and bathrooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Right on the edge of the old town while also close to the airport.

Amazing very nice room great bathroom, well stocked mini bar and great staff just the whole thing great. Location right in center of Heraklion
Only 1 thing was the curtains left dust if we brushed up against it maybe because of the sea and all the wind but it was further very clean
