We loved being close to Gion and we absolutely loved the amenities of the property, they provided amazing high end Japanese skincare and face masks that you could use every night after showering and using the en suite onsen. The en suite onsen was an especially beautiful touch and the water was changed every day. The rooms were so clean and felt brand new with all state of the art appliances. The complementary water was also nice touch along with the free coffee machine and snacks near the lobby area.
We opened our window in the morning and found a graveyard right outside of our window. It really left a bad taste in our mouths especially since most of the reviews don’t mention them and the rooms are quite expensive. We were surprised breakfast didn’t come included at the rate we were paying and we also were surprised there were no dinner options when we arrived. There was a flood on the bullet train tracks on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto so we didn’t get to the hotel until 8 pm and had to take an Uber to find dinner somewhere about a mile and a half away from the hotel.

This was such a nice and unique hotel. From the moment you enter you feel so welcome and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive but discreet. It is in a great location in the old town and walkable to everything but tucked away in a quiet corner of it. The rooms are spacious and the in room onsen is a great addition. There’s a nice lounge space with complimentary snacks, coffee and wine. Can’t fault this hotel would definitely recommend and stay again.
