Solo travel-The values that highlighted my stay were: 1)cleanliness (room was always clean/even if slightly aged), 2)communication (english was not really an issue- I used google translate if needed), 3)location- solid spot by the nearby train station, laundromat, and grocery stores. I like how you can see Fuji Q (the nearby prominent attraction/amusement park), without being inside it with crowded tourists. It was pretty quiet at night. Almost no traffic all times of day since its a little tucked away. 4)Final day checkout- smooth and they were very helpful in connecting me to the local taxi to get to the train station. They were able to accomodate me a few extra nights during earthquakes else where and it was so simple and took a lot of planning stress off.
It's a little aged, but in a charming/cozy way. They really take care of the building.

Absolutely loved it! We stayed for two nights for my 30th birthday and it was absolutely amazing to be able to see Mt Fuji from our room (we had lovely clear skies so great visibility) and we enjoyed the onsen (first time trying an onsen). The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has a warm welcoming feel. We had housekeeping of the room which was made up nicely with fresh towels etc while we were out. We had a rental car so parked on site, it was easy to drive around to attractions. I think the hotel is slightly far away from the train station though but I liked that it was away from busier areas. The hotel is walking distance from a grocery store which was convenient as well as some restaurants. The on-site yakiniku restaurant was great though we had dinner there one night. We wish we could have stayed longer than two nights. The room size was decent enough size for Japan hotel room standards :)
It was perfect. One tiny tiny thing would be the key is on a big heavy thing that you need to carry but at least it's not easy to lose it!
