Located directly on the majestic Little Miami River (with a private beach and kayak launch), surrounded by wooded hillsides, and a natural wellspring-fed creek, this is the ideal setting for both relaxation & fun for all ages. Built in 1860, this historic, character-filled, rustic wood cabin has just been lovingly restored and strikes a charming balance of both ‘very old’ and ‘very new’.
Built before the Civil War, yet later earning its place in Cincinnati lore for a famous Rembrandt art heist (gone wrong), this quiet riverfront cabin has been brought back to life - loaded with quirky features, comfy outdoor swings and gliders on screened porches, a private campfire area by the rushing creek and even an original outhouse!
You`ll fall in love with the park-like grounds, the private fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs, & sweeping river views, as well as over 300 ft of private shoreline to wade out in pristine waters, cast a line and snag a smallmouth, or easily launch a kayak for a lazy float trip with friends.
If ‘unplugged’ fun or a quiet getaway (without having to drive anywhere) is what you’ve been seeking, The Heist delivers like no other vacation retreat! Tune in to nature’s soundtrack of rustling leaves, clear, rushing creek water, birds chattering and frogs croaking. Enjoy your morning coffee by the water, watching the bald eagles soar through the Sycamore trees, or unwind with an evening glass of wine on the oversized front porch swing, or catch the game on the outdoor TV, while lounging on the private, screened-in back porch.
Roast some toasty s’mores around the private firepit and fall asleep to a free nightly symphony, compliments of the crickets and bullfrogs in the distance . If it gets a little rainy, come inside and choose a board game, work a jigsaw puzzle, read a book, watch a movie, or simply lay on the outdoor couch and let the rushing creek lull you to sleep.

While you can set the new HVAC system to your desired temps, a fully restored and working, wood-burning buck stove will keep you cozy in the living room, with ample wood in the stocked wood shed just outside. And the snowy vistas from the hillsides to the waterfront are absolutely breathtaking.
Coming in September! New Hot Tub at The Heist! Outdoor hot tub for 6+ people. Relax on a snowy, chilly night, while unwinding in a private spa under the stars. Then, grab a fluffy beach towel and head in to warm up by the fire.
Looking to venture out? Head into downtown Loveland! While you may feel removed from it all, just remember that all of Loveland’s modern conveniences are just a short ride away - luxury restaurants, quaint boutiques, cold (adult!) beverages. Plus, quick trips to the grocery store or a great local pizza or Mexican restaurant are less than a 5 minute drive from the house!

HOUSE RULES
Please note, we do have a few house rules for you to follow:
We do NOT allow smoking of any kind on the property. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, weed, or any type of illegal substance. If determined that smoking has occurred on the property during your stay, you as the listed guest will be subject to a $250 fine upon check out.
Per the City of Cincinnati and its ordinances, the number of people on the reservation must NOT be exceeded at any time unless otherwise approved by the host. If determined that an additional guest visited the property during your stay, you will be subject to a $500 fine upon check out.
Cameras that are on the exterior of the property are recording 24/7 and can be used to support host if needed. We have a zero tolerance policy. Please note that at anytime we find out that the connection point on the interior of the property has been adjusted, it would be subject to fine or removal from the property.
**Please do not unplug/disconnect any internet routers or boxes without first contacting us! Our unit security requires an active internet signal at all times. Unplugging any router/box without host approval result in an additional fee. The unit will also be subject to host entry to remedy the issue at our discretion.**

Hot Tub:
Feel free to use! To turn on the jets, simply push the two Jet Buttons on the front of the panel. Jets are on 20 minute cycles so they will turn off after 20 minutes. There are lights on the Hot Tub that are also controlled on the front panel. To connect your phone (bluetooth speakers), select the bluetooth button and the password is 5555. When not in use, please keep the hot tub covered. Please no glass or food in or around hot tub. Should you have any questions, please reach out to our on call host!
Heating/AC: The Mini Splits on the wall are AC and HEAT! You are more than welcome to use the remotes to adjust based on your personal preferences.
Parking: Driveway OR across the street ON GRAVEL DRIVE.

This was a lovely, rustic and charming place. Rooms were clean. Location was easy access to river and Loveland. The hot tub needed attention but that was taken care of within a few hours. Also, there were no kitchen towels provided. Access to the loft was a very narrow and very steep set of stairs which I was not aware of from the listing. Otherwise, we loved the place. Wood burning stove and fire pit were incredible and host provided dry wood and kindling for both. Host was very easy to work with throughout booking and stay and very responsive. Would recommend and return.

Nice property, we had a good stay. The screen porch had some holes, we had some flying bug issues. Was woken up in the am by an animal scratching around in the downstairs bathroom area, may have been outside. Would be great to have a few outdoor games available for the nice green space out back. Had some trouble getting the check in info, never did see the email.

Half the jets in the hot tub did not work and the hot tub had some greasy dirt that we tried to wipe off but couldn’t get it all. Could have used a deeper dusting job as well. The overall experience was wonderful though and I would recommend.
