I realize that the Old look is in especially in Italy but the entrance could use a fresh coat of peint and they could use art in the bedroom after all its the art and accessories that make the room.

The property is not a hotel, it's a B7B with no reception. This was a surprise to us and to another guests visiting. So clearer communication on this might be helpful. Luckily we were let in by another guest and that guest also called the owner who remotely guided us into our room. But if not for them, we would be royally stuck outside with two kids in toe. Proper check in communication beforehand would help if self checkin is expected.
After that it was all smooth. The owner was very responsive and helped us with any issues we encountered - like heater needing to be turned on.
The property location is amazing and we loved our room.
The private bathrooms in some cases were outside the room btw - thankfully ours was not. But I believe this also needs to be communicated clearly, cause we saw the other guests be surprised by this fact.
