The whole experience of the beautifully restored barley mill within such a fantastic location was perfect for a relaxing private break! Absolutely ansum.
Although being confident drivers we could see how some would struggle with the steep twisty tight lane leading to and from the property. But take your time shouldn't be a problem 😉

We had such a perfect stay at Barley Mill. The location down in a valley is beautiful and almost otherworldly with a river in the private garden. It's a charming old little mill on the outside, but when you come in it's decorated so stylishly it belongs in an interiors magazine - somehow manages to combine feeling very high end with feeling cosy, romantic and whimsical.
Everything has been designed so thoughtfully, with a bespoke wooden kitchen making the most of the living area upstairs. We cooked twice while there using the 2 x induction hobs and found everything we needed (pans, knives, chopping board, etc). The bed and shower are both excellent.
The walk to Marsland Mouth beach is gorgeous, going through woods, meadows and cliff top paths. The Old Smithy Inn pub is also walking distance, but brace yourself for the steep hill.
Thank you again Amy and Will for a fantastic stay. You should be proud of yourself for creating such a lovely place.

A truly magical retreat in an outstanding location, offering complete privacy with the entire property to yourself. Surrounded by nature, with its own stream running through the cute garden and easy access to the South West Coast Path, it is the perfect place to relax and explore. Despite its peaceful setting, a welcoming local pub and amenities are just a short uphill walk away. Our host was exceptional, contacting us before arrival with clear directions and access instructions for Barley Mill, as well as sharing excellent recommendations for discovering the area's hidden gems. A perfect combination of tranquillity, comfort, and thoughtful hospitality.
