The hotel is on the sweet spot of being near the night market, approximately 10-15 minutes away if you walk, and 2-3 minutes by scooter. From old town, around 15-20 mins. but also in a residential area so you also have your peace and quiet. The staff are really accommodating and there’s a very sweet Ginger cat.

My room was comfortable (there’s a sofa!), spacious and clean. The bathroom was large with both a shower and a bath. The location was perfect, being quite quiet (it’s located down a narrow alleyway), yet only a couple of minutes walk from the city centre, and, going in the opposite direction, even less of a walk from the river. David, the host, was friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. The breakfast choice was limited (being mainly variations on eggs and bread) but freshly cooked to order, decent enough, and, best of all served to my own table outside my room, on a terrace overlooking the courtyard below. (There were only three rooms on the floor, and the tables were spaced out well enough to feel private, while still allowing for chats with neighbours.)
I loved Luang Prabang, and very much hope to return for a longer stay. Vieng Savanh 2 was part of what was a very enjoyable experience. I hope to return there too.
My only slight quibble was that opening the several curtains, shutters, and windows was a bit of a chore. As I was only there for a short stay, and did not spend much daylight time in my room, in the end I opted to leave them closed. It did not spoil the overall satisfaction I had with my stay.

Great location. The staff is very friendly and smiley
I think the profile and the great reviews oversells the place.
This is not an hotel, it is barely a guesthouse. The room is very basic.
There was hardly anyone ever at the front desk to ask for assistance or secure strangers from walking in.
I didn't feel the rooms were secured enough. no real locks on the windows very easy to open the room windows from outside. I had computer and valuable equipment that I felt uncomfortable to leave in the room.
