About this condo rental
Nestled in Ocracoke Island, this charming condo for $189 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. New Owners and Recently updated (Sept 2023) New mattresses, furniture and appliances Pet Friendly Suite 3 story pastel orange beach house with white trim. 1.4 mile walk to the lifeguarded beach. This 1st floor suite has a private kitchenette (NO STOVE), bathroom, and extra bedroom all located within the unit. Great for a family of 4 or two couples looking to get away. Pet friendly for well-behaved dogs up to 50lbs (limit 2) **The listed rate covers up to 2 guests. Additional guests will be an additional $50 per night, per guest. Pet fee is $50 per stay for well-behaved dogs not more than 50lbs (limit 2). **If pets are not marked and paid for at the point of booking, we reserve the right to cancel the booking at the point of check in without refund. (All guests are met in person for check in.) Pets are not to be left unattended for long periods of time and must not disturb other guests while staying with us. Excessive barking or whining will not be tolerated. MAXIMUM of 4 PEOPLE *There are no shared inside spaces with the other units in the house* The private ramp entrance is located on the left side of the house leading to a studio which is spacious and comfortable with a kitchenette, smart TV, seating area and dining table. Down a private hallway is the private full bath with spacious shower, clothes closet, and extra queen bedroom. There is another entrance from the common room at the front of the house. Both have keypad entry with the same code. Accommodations offer a hair dryer, Smart television and starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. Kitchenette includes apartment size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, cookware/dishes/utensils, and a standard 12 cup coffee maker (filters provided) No smoking of any kind (no vapes, no e-cigs). Any evidence of smoking in the suite will incur a cleaning fee of $350. If you must smoke, please do so outside and away from other guests. Dispose of cigarettes properly (do not throw in the yard). ** Parking is a premium on Ocracoke and we only have 1 space available per suite. Please, no trailers or very large vehicles. ** Let us know if you will bring/rent a golf cart while you are staying with us. Bicycles, golf carts and other 4x4 vehicles available for rent on the island. (Lots of options for rentals) Ocracoke Beach Outfitters has beach gear, baby items, bicycles and other items for rent if you forget something for your stay. They are within walking distance of the house. (ocracokebeachoutfitters.com) The house sits in the middle of our little island 30 miles off the mainland accessible only by ferry boat or airplane. There are 3 ferry lines that service this island. Cedar Island, Swan Quarter and Hatteras. Cedar Island and Swan Quarter vehicle ferries require reservations and a small fee (see the NC Ferry Reservations website to reserve your date and time). The Hatteras vehicle ferry is free and first-come, first-serve. You may have to wait in line at Hatteras. The schedule for all ferries and reservations for Cedar Island and Swan Quarter are on the NC Ferry website (ferry.ncdot.gov) No franchises are allowed on island so all the fish markets and restaurants are locally owed as are most all the businesses, family owned and operated. Restaurants get their fresh seafood directly from the local fishermen daily. There are various festivals and special events throughout the season. Check out the Ocracoke Observer community newspaper website (ocracokeobserver.com) or Facebook page for up to date information on restaurant openings/closings and special events. This house sits within walking distance to it all. You must text when you get on your ferry to establish an estimated arrival time for check in. ** NO CHECK INS AFTER 7:30PM WITHOUT SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS ** IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a family friendly space with house rules and quiet hours posted in the rental agreement that you MUST read prior to booking. It's not a loud party house and OWNER reserves the right to cancel the booking (removing the guests), with or without refund, of any guests who do not abide by these house rules or demonstrate a lack of care towards the property or others while here.

The place was in a convenient location, pretty much within walking distance of most things. Amenities were basic. Bring your own sheets, towels, toiletries, and blankets. Nothing fancy, but served the purpose. It was pretty spacious and parking was easy. Clean and easy to get in and out of. Hostess was easy to work with, but we really didn't have anything that needed attention.

Although we were on the island during recent Tropical Storm we enjoyed our stay. We felt safe and secure in home. Property was very clean. Host was very quick to respond. Marie met us at check-in showed us entire area, gave us information and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend.

There were a few things that were not accurate about the listing. The new owners had just taken over so I don’t blame them, but I feel like any where you would rent for a vacation should have the things that they are advertising they have. There was no hair dryer and there were no linens but both were listed. The previous owner had mentioned to me that I may want to bring my own linens, so I did. He also said 2 queen beds but the bed in the bedroom was a full not a queen so the linens didn’t fit. I truly do not blame the new owners but I feel like they should relist the property correctly. They were very nice and I’m sure things will improve with them owning this property.

we where very disappointed because the object did not sample to it was promised to be like.
The furniture was very old , leather sofa at least 30 years old with stains. There was no kitchen as prescribed only a simple camping cook plate and a old dirty microwave.
No washing machine or dryer as prescribed.
The outside terrace where to dirty chairs in front of the garage. Floors were dusty. We were 3 adults with two chairs. A/C only in one room. Owner came in one day later to fix a new one, which was also were loud. We will not recommend to book this place. Was not worth our money, although the new owner tried to do its best. But we were wondering how he could offer such a place.
Finally, the owner Ron was very helpful is made up his way to take care of the property, but we were not happy to spend so much money on this place,

This is our new favorite vacation spot! My husband and I had never been to NC before, and our first visit couldn't have been better.
We rode the ferry over from Swan Quarter, met up with Eric, the owner of the home. He was super friendly, very informative I the island and all of its pros & the 1 con (mosquitos). He gave us info on places to eat and shop. Did a walk through of the house with us and showed us his garage where he had bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and much more and gave us permission to use any of it. The house was a perfect fit for my husband and I. Within walking, biking or golf cart range to everything on the village & just a short drive to the beaches & ponies. We will definitely be back & highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to keep it simple during their stay.

Eric was very helpful and informative before our stay. He spent time during check in making sure we knew where things were on the island. He also made many extras available, such as bikes and beach umbrellas. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The location is close to groceries, restaurants, and gas. The tram stop is also within walking distance.

This property is a little way from the main town, but the whole town is only a half mile long. Easy walking distance to the Variety Store (which has everything you need for the stay), the pub, and the brewery. Other shops and restaurants are a little farther but, again, not more than 1 half mile.
The property itself is adequate to its purpose. It is no tone of the charming houses or condos “down town” but is a good value. Dog friendly, we brought our small lab. AC cooled the whole space, bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water, complaints about water odor seem unfounded. Spring water was supplied for drinking or cooking. Wi-Fi could be spotty; might could use a booster withing the unit. Couch could be replaced. There is no stove, only a hot plate. The listing should make this more clear so guests can come prepared. We did, bringing an instapot and air fryer and were able to prepare our own delicious seafood feasts.
The owner really aims to please. If you have any questions about the island or town, he is there to help. Chairs and umbrellas are provided for the beach. We asked abut clamming and he provided the tools and told us where we could go. We dug up a dozen and cooked them in the unit.

This house was a perfect for us, close to everything! Eric is so nice, thorough and funny! Eric took us for plane ride, how amazing it was!!!!! Star gazing on the front steps was spectacular! SO GLAD we stayed there, thank you Eric 😊

We enjoyed every second. Eric is welcoming and warm, a kind host who offered suggestions of where to go for the best views of the sunsets and sun rises. He took us up in his plane which gave us a birds eye view of the island which we were so thankful for. We will be hopefully seeing him again next year!

Place seemed clean upon arrival. Property owner lives in building and is always around. Very tiny ac window unit to cool whole place and stayed hot. Upon sweeping floors I swept up a good amount of dog hair and we didn't have a dog. The tv is very small sitting on the table you are to eat at, and internet hardly works. On our last day I found a cockroach on the wall and freaked out. My kids started screaming when my husband was trying to kill it. We got told by the Property owner right after that incidence that our kids ages 4, 8 and 13 was being too loud.
We did enjoy our time on the island, and we was barely there. Only to stay, but we will not be staying here again.

Eric's place was a great fit for us, comfortable, clean and spacious. Great big shower a plus! Whole-house water filtration system solved whatever problem older reviews mentioned about the water smelling like sulphur - the water was fine (and it's also fascinating to look up how Ocracoke gets its water!). Window unit a/c in the main room works well and runs quietly, but we did use the fan Eric provided to move the air to the back bedroom one night. We didn't need anything he didn't provide, and I'm sure he'd help with anything anyone needed while they stay here. Storage in garage, along with beach toys and bikes to use. A great value!

Not the Ritz (but we weren't looking for the Ritz). However, it is a cozy place within 5 minutes walk of everything on the north end of town. Eric (the owner) did everything possible to accomodate us during our stay. We would go back.

This was our second time staying at Eric’s place. It was just what we needed. Location was perfect, amenities were plentiful, and we enjoyed our stay immensely even with some rainy weather! We will stay there again when returning to the island!
