About this cabin rental

Situated in Porter, this attractive cabin for $400 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This cabin has the best view of Lake Michigan and the Chicago Skyline, inside and outside. This delightfully open cabin with two bedrooms and a perfect view of Porter Beach and Lake Michigan is nestled in the Indiana Dunes and just 53 steps away from magnificent Lake Michigan. The only thing between you and the lake is 53 stairs and a lovely sand beach. There is sleeping for 4 currently but the couch can be used. Ample seating in the living area includes dining room chairs and living room sofa with spinning chairs. The dining room table can be expanded to meet 9 persons dining needs or the leaves can be easily hidden away for a more intimate dining experience. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, Kuerig cup coffee maker, and Central Air (Furnace/Air Conditioning). All linens (bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes and dish towels, bedding) are provided. There is a full wrap around deck with chairs and a Weber propane gas grill. The beach is a public beach, about a half mile from the main Dunes State Park Beach, we have beach toys for children of all ages, footballs, spike ball, soccer balls and other beach games. This is the top level of a 2 story cabin with 2 parking spaces. Should you want to venture beyond the beach numerous nearby attractions include Chesterton European Market (Saturdays), hiking, biking, dining, breweries, shopping, museums, art galleries, an arboretum, golfing, waterpark, farmers markets, live theatre, movie theatres, skating, bowling and much more.

Very relaxing, beautiful view, and easily accessible. William was incredibly hospitable. There was a snowstorm one of the days and he offered to bring me something! So kind. Definitely recommend.

Everything was as advertised!!! Short walk to the beach, pet friendly, and clean! We had a blast, great places to eat and sight see! Close enough to Chicago to wear we drove over the Navy Pier, had Chicago style pizza and came back all in a few hours!! I highly recommend this place!

Cabin 53 is a relaxing cottage overlooking Lake Michigan. I highly recommend if you're visiting the Indiana Dunes.

Property better than expected. Clean with beautiful views. An really 53 steps to beach. Owners seem to take great pride in house. Definitely one that you must see. Will do again.

Very relaxing, best beautiful beach view! Nicer than even the nice pictures. Everything's there, all you could want and more! 12 out of 10. Owner bookings allowed an early checkin and late checkout. So romantic, walking along the beach at night under this full moon. Parking right by house. Loved every moment, would recommend this superior property to all!

Quiet in the fall and beautiful vistas of Lake Michigan are the highlight of this lovely rental. Everything is provided and it feels like one could stay forever. The neighborhood is secluded and the beach access is right on property. For older folks who can't maneuver the stairs, the public beach is just a 3 minute drive and there is plenty of parking off season. The national and state parks are very close and worth a visit. Perfect 10 out of 10 rental.

Beautiful cottage with splendid views, cottage left you wanting for nothing. Long walks along the beach, a good place to cleanse your soul. Very centrally located, local restaurants and businesses are very friendly. I great area to relax. Eat well and enjoy life.

great location! good view too, house was clean too! We enjoyed our stay in there. if have to mention anything for improvement in the future would be to have dishwasher. Also the coffee machine was not working but we happened to bring our own travel mug so we a were able to manage it with our own ground coffee,

This is the absolute PERFECT beach getaway. The location is so perfect. You can literally walk a few steps right to the beach. The view is amazing. You are elevated above the other beach houses and can see the entire like, the beach, even the Chicago skyline. There is a huge deck that wraps around the entire house. You can have dinner outside, we sat and enjoyed drinks while relaxing to the sound of the waves hitting the shore. The Chesterton farmer’s market on Saturdays is just a few minutes away. It’s wonderful. The big public beach is a short walk with a restaurant right on the beach. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The property was super cute. Cozy, huge windows, super clean and the property owned had it full stocked with essentials, even toiletries which was a super nice touch!! If you are looking for the perfect beach getaway on Lake Michigan with everything super close, beautiful views, cozy cabin, great property manager, communication was excellent, and literally being a few steps down the quaint beach wooden stairway, this is absolutely perfect. Great for a couple or small group of friends. And the best part, it was one of the few properties in that area that had the assigned parking right at the house. Literally park your car, step out, then enter the house. My wife and I will 100% be staying at this property again. The cabin and the property owner/manager are both highly recommended!

Look no more, this is the property you want to rent! The location of the property was 100% perfect for our mini vacation getaway. 2 minute walk to the beach, an incredible view of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, and incredible access to local restaurants. We could not have asked for a better location or host! William was an incredible host, he recommended several activities and resources that we took advantage of. We hiked the several trails in the dunes state park, enjoyed local eateries and felt so relaxed (and safe) the entire time. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you are at all debating about whether to rent this property, do not hesitate any longer! After heavily researching other properties, William’s property was hands down the best option to be had. There is no other choice! Pick this location and enjoy an incredible experience and incredible host. Thank you William!
