Pensión el Carmen

"I chose this place because it was relatively cheap and close to the airport. Public transport into the centre of Madrid was easy. The bus was a five minute walk away. Also I wanted a private bathroom."

Its conveniently located with €3 direct bus to the IFEMA Congress less than 45 minutes away. The host was wonderfully helpful and accepted to keep my suitcase for me from the morning and placed it in my room when I came back to check in late in the evening.

There may be better rooms in the Pension, but the room I had, next to the (unmanned) reception desk, was not great. I would describe it as a small walk-in closet with a shower box, the only window leads to an indoor lightwell behind the reception desk. Best to agree exact room before finalising your booking.
