Lovely accommodation, everything you needed, very clean, good supply of towels, really comfortable bed. Ian and Sharon very welcoming, had a really lovely stay.
Booking.com not forwarding the key code number and directions to find the accommodation and on the bit of directions you do get its to the wrong cottage. Had to message Ian and Sharon on the day of travel to ask for these, which they kindly provided.

What did you like?
I’ve visited Shaldon many times over the years and it really has a special place in my heart, but this was my first time staying outside the village — and Garden Lodge absolutely didn’t disappoint!
The views over the estuary are amazing, and the location is so peaceful and quiet. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished — modern but still really cosy and homely — and has absolutely everything you could need. The bed deserves a special mention too… so comfy and luxurious, with gorgeous cotton sheets, lovely towels and toiletries, and all the mod cons.
Ian and Sharon are fantastic hosts. They’re genuinely two of the kindest and friendliest people, and nothing is too much trouble. I honestly felt like I’d made friends by the time I left! Ian’s artist studio next door is also second to none and definitely worth a look.
The walk into Shaldon takes around 15 minutes and is lovely, along the river, so for me it was actually part of the enjoyment.
I’ve had a really lovely 7-night stay and will definitely be back. ❤️
What didn’t you like?
Honestly, there’s very little to say here! The Wi-Fi can be a little intermittent, but when you’re on holiday, perhaps that’s not such a bad thing — it’s a good excuse to properly switch off and enjoy where you are!
If you specifically want to be right in the middle of Shaldon village, then Garden Lodge probably isn’t the place for you. But the village is only around a 15-minute walk away, and the walk along the river is beautiful, so I certainly didn’t see it as a downside.

Lovely setting and our host Ian was great , very comfortable and bonus on top was being next door to artist workshop.

The Garden Lodge was very comfortable, well equipped and there was wine, which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.
The directions, maybe say 'after the caravan site', as we followed directions to the post code - which we arrived at quite a little way before the property, though could have been our poor navigating!
