Uncomfortable and full of mold. Really do not recommend this and it is not worth not even a third of the price they ask
The location is not far from city center nor the beaches (Sao Roque), however the house sits in a corner with a lot of noisy traffic, and the noise isolation is very poor, it feels as if the walls are thin paper, so you hear all the cars coming from two roads when you are sitting in the living room or laying in bed.
You also hear the upstairs neighbors as if they were in the house, every outside noise comes in as if they were in the room.
Also you come in the glass front door straight from the street and feel quite exposed. You only get a code and no key , so it does not feel quite safe to leave the house without being able to lock it.
The first thing you notice when you come in is the smell of mold. The whole house smells moldy and some walls have visible signs of mold infiltration.
One of the rooms has no window and you cannot get fresh air in.
Because the windows are straight to the road, you don’t feel to comfortable having them wide open to air the house, because you feel very exposed and with low privacy.
You cannot also leave them open when you are not in the house, because it is unsafe, and someone could easily come in the house through a window.
All the cabinets and drawers smell as mold.
We were there 7 days and after 3 days I got sick with an alérgico reaction to mold that I am still recovering from.
It really feels like the house is not proper to receive guests.
In the description of the house it says the floors are “parquet “ (traditionally wood) but that is not true / they are tiles - which are a bit cold and uncomfortable.
The description also talks about a sofa bed, which is not true.
Both sofa, table chairs and the mattresses of the beds are very uncomfortable.
The decoration is functional and not very good taste, but it feels as if it is put there to look good on the picture.
It feels as if you are staying in a garage or “armazém “ , not really home or cosy at all.
The internet is very slow,
the tv only works with the Portuguese channels
We contacted the managers and they took 3 days to reply to our calls.
Really do not recommend this and it is not worth not even a third of the price they ask for.

Casa com problema humidade
As áreas da casa, e os eletrodomésticos que possuem. Apesar de achar que falta máquina de lavar loiça e mais tachos e frigideiras.
Cheiro muito intenso e desagradável a humidade. A casa deve estar fechada a muito tempo e não tem circulação de ar. Deve sofrer de infiltrações do andar de cima. Nota-se que os tectos estão com sinais de infiltração. Os moveis e tudo o que está dentro cheira a humidade. Tive que comprar velas, mikados, absorventes de humidade,etc… para tirar o cheiro, sempre que estava em casa tinha que ter as janelas abertas para suportar estar na casa. A roupa mesmo a que não usei na viagem tive que lavar, tinha tudo um cheiro horrível. Lamentável. Não aconselho a pessoas que sofram de alergias ou problemas respiratórios .

Estive hospedado nesta casa nos Açores durante 7 dias em maio de 2025. A estadia foi feita por mim, a minha esposa e os meus pais, e foi, sem dúvida, uma das experiências mais desagradáveis que já tivemos em alojamentos.
Logo ao entrar na casa, deparámo-nos com um cheiro intenso a bolor que nunca desapareceu, apesar de deixarmos as janelas abertas diariamente e de mantermos o ar condicionado no modo "Dry". A situação era tão desconfortável que considerámos seriamente abandonar a casa e procurar um hotel.
À chegada, uma das janelas nem sequer fechava corretamente, o que nos obrigou a contactar o proprietário. Quando o técnico veio resolver o problema, alertou-nos para o facto de aquela zona ser perigosa e aconselhou-nos a ter algum cuidado, o que aumentou ainda mais o nosso desconforto e insegurança. Acrescente-se ainda que a porta principal da casa dá directamente para uma estrada com bastante movimento, o que contribui para o ruído constante e para a sensação de exposição.
O ar condicionado, embora presente na sala e em dois quartos, não funcionava adequadamente e libertava um cheiro húmido e mofo que piorava ainda mais a atmosfera. A humidade era tal que, após os meus pais guardarem a roupa nos armários do quarto, ao fim de três dias, as roupas começaram a ganhar bolor visível.
Um dos quartos era interior, sem qualquer janela – um pormenor que não estava mencionado no anúncio, que referia apenas “dois quartos”.
A localização também deixa muito a desejar: fica mesmo em frente à entrada da prisão local, e há muito poucas opções de estacionamento nas imediações.
A casa causou desconforto físico notável aos meus pais, ambos já com alguma idade, incluindo sintomas respiratórios relacionados com a humidade excessiva.
Já utilizei a plataforma Booking para mais de 20 reservas e nunca tive uma experiência tão má como esta. Senti-me desiludido com o alojamento e confesso que perdi um pouco a confiança na Booking.
