From the moment we walked in, we knew we wouldn’t be staying anywhere else for future trips to Canaan/Davis! The decor - especially the art - was bright and lively. And the view from the deck-wow! The first night we used the firepit & had a glorious evening by the glow of the fire & enjoyed the amazing view of the stars - they were so bright! The next morning, we enjoyed a breathtaking sunrise on the deck & later, spent time out there having mimosas and chatting. The warm sun with the cool breeze was perfection. My partner & I & 2 other couples stayed & there was plenty of room and supplies (plates, coffee cups, wine glasses, towels, etc.) for us all. The living room was spacious & the fireplace gave a warm and cozy atmosphere on our 2nd day which was much cooler than the first! The downstairs area had a kitchenette, a large seating area, & a big tv (which we didn’t use, but could see how the 2nd area could be handy with a large group). Several of us raved about the shower - with the house being newly renovated, they picked great shower heads with good pressure (this is essential for me!) The hosts were very quick to respond to the few questions we had & I was elated they were able to make some last minute changes to my checkout time - I had to stay a bit later than the rest of the group & do some work & was pleased they had a stand up desk (which I positioned to look out over that epic view of Canaan) & the wifi worked beautifully! We’ll def be back!

We had a lovely stay here with our older children and dog. Lizz and Tom really have made this place feel like a home away from home. The little added extra touches were unexpected and very thoughtful. We brought our dog and was so surprised to see extra leashes and doggie pick up bags. The kitchen we felt was well stocked with most all of the basic cooking pans and utensils you would need. Each bedroom was comfortable and decorated nicely. I really can't say enough about this place, highly recommend! The hosts were fantastic with checking in to make sure things were good when we arrive and very friendly. Thanks again!

The house is very clean, spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The hosts were totally accommodating and helped us navigate a very cold and snowy weekend. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a lovely start to 2024 in Lizz and Tom’s lovely WV cabin. Firstly, the Canaan valley has held our heart for nearly 20 years of visits, and their place is nestled in the center - couldn’t get a more centralized location for doing all the things. We had snow so enjoyed skiing, sledding at Blackwater, purple fiddle, white grass and snowshoeing the trails. Secondly, Everything was just as described and more. From the extra touches such as the most luxurious cozy bed covers or a ready to make bonfire with s’mores and hot cocoa makings or dog beds in every room TO a hard to find EV charger that made for incredible peace of mind the entire week, they thought of all the details. We had a small mix up (my fault) and they graciously worked with us despite it all. All in all and A+ experience! My only critique is we wished we could come back immediately, but they are booked out so far!!! :)

Best VRBO or any place we have ever rented. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. We have been renting and skiing in Canaan Valley for 34 years. This is by far the best place we’ve stayed. Beautifully decorated. 3 bedrooms ALL have Queen beds, so no one has to stay in the kids room. The view from the living room is of the valley which is part wildlife preserve. One night I watched the stars from the sofa. One morning a herd of deers running through a field. Truly Dog friendly. Lower fee than other properties. Dog bowls, dog beds, treats, extra leashes, and even orange vests for your pups are provided to keep you and your furry family members safe. Kitchen really had everything to cook. my husband loved the oatmeal fixing bar. (Just bring the oatmeal.) Upstairs if you want to chill sit by the gas log fire which is on a thermostat & remote. The party crowd can sit downstairs in front of the big screen with a minifridge, wet bar and 2nd coffee station. It looks like it’s off the beaten path but it is not far from the store, Davis and the slopes. You can see Timberline out the front windows. This is the best stocked rental we have ever had. They even had a Roomba! One night we also used the scenic fire pit. The Hosts Lizz and Tom are near by responsive, incredibly nice and helpful. Lizz alerted us of a coming storm on our arrival day. The driveway was plowed before we woke up. Our family had a year of stress and loss, our week here was magical and restful. Amazing decor inside.

House was just like described in the pictures. Awesome space and layout. Close to all the ski resorts. The hosts were awesome. Ice machine stopped working and they came by and looked at it and tried to fix it and they left a bag of ice. That was so kind. Also swept the stairs and driveway area cause it snowed pretty good. very thoughtful...Plenty of cooking stuff and other utensils. Over all I definitely would recommend you stay there. And the views!!!!! The views!!!!

We really enjoyed staying at Lizz&Tom's house. Everything was available, felt like home and need nothing to buy. I was also impressed by cleanliness of the house, appliances and enjoyed sleeping in pure cotton bedding. The house was well heated, great bathrooms with all supplies. The host was available 24/7 for any questions. Both ski resorts are max 15 min away. We will definitely come back next season and would love to sit outside by the firepit. Thank you!
