Space in the apartment and the location was close, just a short walk to the beach
One bedroom/bathroom on the lower floor has a bad drain smell

The second time staying at Casa Vela - location was excellent. Plenty of room and easy access to the pool and restaurant at the site. Only a 10 minute walk to a lovely beach which had an excellent fish restaurant.
A short and reasonably priced taxi ride to Albufeira Marina, Albufeira Old Town and a lovely small local beach (Praia d Coelha).
The main criticism we had was the lack of airconditioning in the apargment. Fans were provided, but they were not sufficient when we were there as it was extremely hot.
If there was air-con, the score for the apartment itself would be 10!!.
One other small thing - the floor tiles outside the door to the apartment were badly cracked, and even though there was a small doormat, this didn't cover the damaged tiles. We pointed this out after our stay last year, but unfortunately it hadn't been fixed.
Despite the two points made above, we, as a group had a really relaxing holiday.

The location was great and ubers were regular and cheap to everywhere we needed to go.
The host provided information of local supermarkets.
The property is spacious and well lit. It had been cleaned, however, there were so many things in disrepair that have been previously reported by other guests that still have not been rectified.
Tiles outside front door are broken uncovered and sharp. They are a trip hazard and will cut you if you dont wear shoes.
The sheets and towels are clean but there are holes in them, they look over 10 years old and need renewing.
The beds are not double beds, they are two singles pushed together on wheels woth no coasters on tiles. They kept parting in the night and you fall down the middle.
The fan in the living room was broken off its stand and so was the electric heater on the mezzanine.
The sofa was broken. All the wood underneath was broken and the sofa bowed in the middle. Its been that way for a long time.
A few light bulbs were not working
The property has lots of potential however in its current condition is only worth half the price they are asking when basic maintainence isnt being carried out.
