Firstly, the location! Just a 5-minute walk to the train station and the same to the bus station and local buses. The nearest restaurant/pizzeria is a 3-minute walk away (I recommend "I Santi Pizza" - very friendly service and delicious pizza). If you would like to eat a local breakfast and drink coffee in the morning at a very reasonable price, I recommend "Caffè Costa" - 2 minutes walk away.The neighborhood may not be beautiful, but it's typical of Catania. The apartment is behind a sturdy gate with a key, which gives a sense of security. The apartment is well-equipped - there's a stove, fridge with freezer, kettle, all the necessary cutlery, pots, etc. The shower works perfectly, has good water pressure, and always has hot water. Downstairs there's a shower, toilet, bidet, and sink, while the upstairs bedroom has only a toilet, bidet, and sink, no shower. The bed is large and comfortable. The WiFi was average - sometimes it was impossible to connect. At the back there's a small patio with a table and seating.
Opening the gate can be a bit tricky, but once you figure it out, it's fine. The air conditioning works well, but unfortunately, it doesn't reach the upstairs bedroom, so you should expect the temperature in the bedroom to be several degrees warmer than downstairs. The boiler upstairs makes a rather loud squeaking noise, which can make it difficult to fall asleep. The water from the outside air conditioner isn't draining properly, causing puddles to form on the patio.

Location, easy walk to train and bus station, supermarkets close, warm place, quiet, quick communication with host
Mould on bathroom sink and walls in living area, pipes making squealing noises during night and day, vermin in walls making noises, floor dirty as left feet black. We accept most things, flexible however this was quite poor.
