The location was remote but that's what was so good about it. The food, wine and fireplace were all excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean with soft white towels.

A fabulous historic hotel tucked away in the wild forested hills of NE Tasmania😍 Kristy is a wonderfully warm and friendly host / manager, the rooms plain and simple but with very warm and comfy beds and the meals very hearty for recharging the body after a hard day cycling (or hiking) and a lovely glowing fire in the wood-burner stove in the dining room to keep you toasty warm on a cold winter's day or night😍 And wonderful fellow guests with whom you can share stories of your adventures😍 Incredible value too!!! Will definitely be coming back🤩👍🤩
The cold bathroom floor in the middle of the night in the middle of winter!!! Just kidding 😂 Put some socks on before going to the toilet at 3am and you'll be right 👍

This pub is in a fantastic location. I was there in winter & it was warm in the pub (2 log fires) & in the room (wall heater). It's very dog-friendly & pub dog, Dave, was keeping an eye on things. The evening meals were good & the continental breakfast while basic - bread, cereals, milk, tea & coffee - was enough to get the day started. The bed was really comfy & linen & towels clean. Wifi was also good. They have some great beers on tap, so I enjoyed settling in front of the fire for dinner & a few pints & not having to drive anywhere afterwards. It's basic accom in a historic Tassie pub.
There are 2 shared bathrooms & each one has a shower & toilet. One of the bathrooms was pretty stinky when I was there, so I dodged it & used the other, which was fine. The walls, back of the door & windowsill in room 1 could have done with a clean. There was a lot of noise from other rooms at 6am on my final morning as a group got ready to head off on their motorbikes but otherwise it was fairly quiet.
