Not quite as advertised

The apartment itself was good for the price point and well presented with nice little touches such as the towels being folded and flowers in them.

Couldn’t access the property when we first arrived as keys are kept on the inside of the building and it was locked on the outside but were able to get in contact with the apartment representative to sort. Main issue was the free parking as advertised isn’t true, we ended up with a £100 fine, £60 if paid in the first 2 weeks! When we contacted them about this they appeared very helpful to begin with but when I followed up a week later to see if it had been sorted, my message was ignored and when I logged in the fine had not been paid or appealed, so be wary as now trying to appeal, we got the fine the day of leaving at 8am. The blinds didn’t block out much light either so woke up early as staying in the summer. Also some of the food in the kitchen that was left for us was out of date so double check dates before eating!

Living in the dirt - challenge

We had enough towels and bed linen for the whole stay, a working vacuum cleaner for our dog, and a blanket to cover the sofas. On arrival we found coffee and some basics, which was a nice touch. The host responded to our messages, which gave us a sense of accessibility. Despite the simple equipment we managed to get through the weeks by adding what we needed ourselves, which made the stay acceptable in the end.

The surroundings are dirty (stairwell, driveway, overflowing bins) and do not match the rental price. The kitchen is run-down: extractor does not work, cupboards peeling, drawers stuck, little cookware. Drains blocked, blinds broken. Mattresses and pillows unhygienic, we had to wash them. Cleaning supplies useless, mid-stay cleaning overpriced. Coffee machine had to be descaled and scrubbed first. Overall far below rental standards. Value for money extremely disappointing.

nothing i have lodged a complaint but as usual heard nothing

everything. pictures told a completely different story. it was disgusting
