At the hotel, you can sometimes feel like you’re being legally scammed. When a security deposit is not returned without a valid explanation, it feels like a scam.

We had a disappointing experience regarding the handling of our €200 security deposit. After our stay, we had to wait approximately two and a half months before following up, as we had not received the refund or any explanation. At the time of check-out, we were not informed of any incident or problem with the accommodation. We left the property clean and in good condition. In addition, when we asked how to return the keys, we were explicitly told that no one needed to come and collect them and that we could simply leave them at the residence’s reception. However, when we requested the return of the deposit two months later, we were told that the reason for withholding it was allegedly that we had not cleaned the property. This explanation seems difficult to understand, particularly because no such issue was mentioned when we checked out and, according to the accommodation’s conditions, cleaning was the responsibility of the property. We feel that keeping the security deposit for such a long period and only providing this explanation afterward raises concerns about transparency in the handling of the deposit. We therefore ask Booking.com to take this situation into consideration and assist us in recovering the €200 security deposit that remains due to us.

Trevligt att kunna se soluppgången och att kunna sitta på balkongen och beundra utsikten. Dåligt med garderober och köksredskap. Annars välutrustat, skönt med tvättmaskin.
