About this house rental
Get deep in the dunes of Rodanthe at FAIR WINDS with unobstructed views of the Ocean. Walk over the sandy dune and you are on the beach! Rodanthe Fishing Pier, local shops, food trucks, restaurants, bars, & Adventure park all within walking or biking distance! Rodanthe is part of a cluster of villages located on Hatteras Island. Surrounded by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which stretches over 70 miles. Touring lighthouses, sightseeing, kiteboarding & windsurfing are popular activities! BONUS - open outdoor shower with ocean views!
The space
Our beachfront home is the perfect place for you and your family to enjoy a beach getaway. Both decks are ocean view, where you can even enjoy the hot tub on the porch that leads directly off the kitchen! Open living, dining, kitchen areas on first level. Take hallway off kitchen down to one queen bedroom with ceiling fan and TV, one bathroom with tub/shower combo and spacious laundry room with TV and bed for additional sleeping area! Take one flight of internal stairs up to top level to access queen bedroom that faces the Ocean with its own private deck, TV, & ceiling fan. A second bedroom with TV, ceiling fan, & 2 full size beds. One bathroom on this second level with shower. BONUS - Dog Friendly!

Please let your host know if a dog will be joining you by adding them to your reservation at checkout. Due to proximity to the Atlantic Ocean - it is not uncommon to see water along street that leads to the home and/or in driveway - this is all tidal driven and can be monitored by viewing the tide charts provided online at NOAA location Rodanthe. There is a spot within walking distance to house to relocate your car to higher ground if you would like to during your stay.
**PET POLICY**
We welcome dogs with prior host approval. Dogs are the only pets allowed, and a maximum of one dog is permitted per reservation. Please contact the host immediately upon booking and provide your dog's breed and size for approval.
Due to the close proximity to other guests, aggressive breeds are not permitted on the property. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when outside of the room, and owners are responsible for picking up and disposing of all dog waste in the outside trash bins.
Please keep dogs off all beds and furniture. Additional cleaning required for pet hair, stains, odors, or other pet-related messes on bedding or furnishings may result in an extra cleaning charge.

Had a wonderful time at Fair Winds! Adorable, cozy house, hot tub was great, tvs and kitchen appliances nice and new. Check in and out was easy. It was super clean. The neighborhood was so quiet. View from the porch and upstairs balcony was great. However, I wished I had known that the dune decribed in the property details, required more than a hop to get over. Those dunes are at least 15 feet tall. The nearest access is a short walk less than a tenth of a mile, but the way it's described makes it seem that you're right on the beach, which is what I was looking for. Upstairs balcony is very unsteady, and needs some tlc and the trash pick up is very unpredictable. We had a wonderful time tho, and made some great memories!

Fabulous location and great views. One note is that the A/C is rather loud in the upstairs ocean view room. Also…perhaps a prompt in the listing would be helpful that there are beach chairs and a beach tent in the bedroom cupboard. We found them as we were leaving. Overall wonderful place to have celebrated 3 birthdays and a graduation!!

This is a very cozy house located just steps from the beach. We spent lots of time sitting on the decks watching dolphins, seabirds and spectacular sunrises. The house is well maintained and features an updated kitchen stocked with everything you might need. Close to two restaurants. It was a great stay.
