The Rainforest Hideaway

We had an incredible stay at the rainforest hideaway! The cabins are super comfortable and clean, the waterfall in the backyard is breathtaking, the hosts were so helpful and sweet and finally the food was delicious. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to disconnect from busy cities. We also did a short day safari and a night one. Overall we wouldn’t recommend going at night that much, but go during the day and enjoy the waterfalls of sinharaja

Amazing chalet right next to the river and immerse in the nature. We took part in the tour of the Shiranja forest organised by the stay and it was one of the most amazing experiences we had in Sri Lanka. The guide was very informative and took is time to guides through the whole hike.

The proximity to the river is both good and bad as the noise of the water fills the whole chalet and makes it a bit hard to sleep( it is romantic at first but after a while it becomes annoying) but I guess is part of the charm of the place.

A peaceful jungle getaway with stunning views and great service! We had a wonderful stay at this charming, cozy property near Sinharaja. The place is small and intimate, featuring just a few cabanas that overlook a fantastic, flowing stream. The constant, soothing sound of falling water throughout our stay was incredibly relaxing (though keep in mind, the water level depends heavily on recent rainfall). There is even a great natural spot right by the cabanas to take a refreshing bath in the stream. Booking & Arrival: Before booking, I tried calling the property directly to ask a few questions but couldn’t get through. However, booking via Booking.com was seamless, and right after it went through, the owner proactively sent all the necessary details to our WhatsApp. Note that you cannot drive your own vehicle straight to the cabanas. They operate a secure car park away from the property and provide a fun 4x4 jeep shuttle service to bring you the rest of the way. Staff & Food: The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to the manager, Mr. Shehara, who was always in touch and made sure all of our needs were met. The food was absolutely delicious, very flavorful, and definitely worth the money spent. Tips for Travelers: Getting there: If you take the Lankagama road, it is a shorter and easier route, but the road is very narrow. It can be quite challenging if two cars need to pass each other. That said, it is incredibly scenic and full of nature, and you can even visit a few waterfalls along the way. Heading back: For a smoother drive home, we highly recommend taking the longer route back through the Deniyaya side.
