The Embers Hotel

The location was excellent for our plans in the area. The staff we interacted with were lovely and helpful.

The control for the blinds is all the way across the room from the windows so we did not see it. When we tried to make the shades come down, one completely unspooled. We called the front desk at 7:10 pm and had to leave a message. No one returned my call. We notified the front desk the next morning and they didn’t seem to know anything about it. Also, most of the times I passed the front desk there was no one there.

The hotel is the best choice and maybe the only one. It is located at the beginning of the five block main street. There is not much parking so that alone is a reason to stay there. We were given a room off the back so it was quiet, except for some drunk people rudely returning late to their rooms, but of course the hotel cannot be blamed for that. The room was fine and there was even a balcony. The dinner was excellent and nicely had plant-based/vegan options and Angela was wonderful and everyone we met was great. We also had breakfast and it was good. Kudos for having coffee in the lobby and for providing almond milk at 6:00 a.m. The hotel is expensive but we went on a weekend in the heart of the summer. Blowing Rock is a fun destination for a getaway.

The location is fantastic. It is a few steps away from shops and restaurants and is centrally located downtown. It is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The bar is lively and there is a patio with live music when we were there.

For the luxury price charged, there was no fitness center or business center. The staff that was there were kind and friendly (except one). It felt shot staffed and cramped.
