Fantastic place to stay while attending a wedding in the Peak District. Lovely property with everything we needed, super comfy sofa and bed, lots of space, hot tub is a bonus! And the host India couldn't have been more helpful. Nice quiet area with a great village shop for essentials a short walk away too
Nothing, would happily stay again!
Some more general advice for the area- if you need taxis, do book them far in advance as they are hard to come by!

A great location with lots of excellent walks right on the doorstep, and very easy to find. There’s a small garden for the dogs, though we didn’t fully test the fencing so can’t comment on how secure it is.
Inside, the house has two double bedrooms with comfortable beds, a cosy sofa, and was clean where it mattered. There’s also a simple little bed tucked under the stairs — a fun touch for any Harry Potter fans. The overall finish is a bit DIY in places, but it’s nicely decorated and perfect for people travelling with dogs.
We did struggle with the TV: the smart functions didn’t work for all apps, likely because it’s an older model, and the colour display was a bit off. The kitchen is fine for basics, but I wouldn’t plan to cook much in it; like many cottages, the cookware is well used.
Overall, it’s a nice, comfortable cottage at a good price in an excellent location. We recommend The Maynard for food, and the walks along the River Derwent, Froggatt Edge, and the surrounding woodland are fantastic.
The oven needed a good clean. We did not use the hot tub but it is located in a small yard at the rear next to the car park. It costs £45 to use. It was not cleaned after the last guest's left, but we did not plan to use it.
