So this is quite a unique property. The former Palazzo dei Libri, situated just 2-3 minutes walking distance from Piazza della Signoria. We had a fantastic stay for 4 nights (we were 2 people), a very comfortable sleep and a quite interesting feeling returning home to the frescoes and old furniture and imposing design right after visiting Uffizzi :)
We left our car at the parking garage situated on a parallel street and were greeted by a nice host that gave us all the needed instructions.
The apartment has everything you might need: AC, espresso machine, laundry machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, big TV, cooking pots, cutlery etc. (but we ate out mostly). The bathroom is small but cute, the bed is huge and comfy and everything looks just like in the pictures. There's even a small elevator that proved quite useful when arriving with a lot of heavy luggage.
This place still holds a lot of its former glory and if you are not nitpicking the small details and little things that need a bit of fixing, then you will probably like it a lot. We loved every minute and this property is definitely going into my saved accommodations for future Florence visits!
The internet stopped working a few times (probably a faulty router), but we just made our own hotspot and it was fine. However, if your carrier is not from EU, you might have big data traffic costs.
Sheets and pillows and towels and cutlery were all perfectly clean. But the apartment is huge and there are some small dusty places and some spots on the couch and armchair (nothing unsolvable with a more careful cleaning).
For someone who pays a lot of attention to details, I almost had to stop myself and my husband from trying to fix all the lampshades and wires and light bulbs :) We would advise a good electrician to fix all the random wiring, but again- it's not a big deal.
All in all, I would rather stay in an imperfect but spectacular piece of history than in a modern 5 star hotel. And nothing can beat the amazingly central location and the feeling you have staying here!

We had an unforgettable stay at the property. The apartment must have been the reception hall of the 15th century palazzo, as it features sumptuous 6-metre ceiling throughout, the highest ceiling in the building. Not only does it exude the sense of grandeur of a bygone era with wonderful frescos/ coffered ceilings, patinated terracotta floors and exceptionally large windows, the floor plan is also well thought-out and practical. To make the experience even better, Stefano and team were so kind, accommodating and responsive. We would highly recommend the property, it was a Florentine dream.
