There are a lot of great things about HONEST Apartments Karlin, but also some major drawbacks to keep in mind before booking. This is my honest review after staying there a bit longer than 3 weeks…
The Pros:
Location: Unbeatable position right next to the central bus station (Florenc), making it super convenient if you’re traveling by bus from other cities. Local buses stop right outside.
Neighborhood: Karlín is amazing! It’s highly walkable to the city center and main museums, filled with great cafés and a large supermarket nearby. It’s also fantastic for running, with lovely routes offering scenic views of Prague. 🤍
Customer Service: The staff communicates efficiently via WhatsApp. When my initial room wasn't what I had booked, they managed to move me after a few days into a much larger apartment with a fully equipped, functional kitchen.
Pest Control Effort: Housekeeping and maintenance did come to fumigate as soon as I raised concerns.
The Cons & Issues:
App & Access System: Everything relies on a mobile app (building doors, apartment door, and the elevator). The app-controlled elevator is very small and wasn't mentioned beforehand. On check-in day, nothing worked properly, which was a hassle with heavy luggage.
Humidity & Pests (Silverfish): Both rooms I stayed in suffered from a severe humidity problem and a strong damp smell, particularly around the lower bathroom area. This attracted silverfish, which was very uncomfortable… 😣 I even found them in my bed during the night. While fumigation helped reduce them, it didn't solve the issue completely.

Close to public transport, warm, comfortable bed.
Shower leaked, broken toilet seat, noisy neighbours.
Noted all these things to the hosts as per their welcoming messages to let them know if there were any problems, but nothing was done about them throughout our 3 night stay.
