About this cabin rental
Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Dog and cat friendly. Smart TV. Free wi-fi available.
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is a short path down to the river beach & water (Please note that people have varying experiences with the path to the river -- the path is a little rocky and can be muddy after a rain, but for those without mobility issues it's rarely an issue to reach the river when the weather is good), as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin, as well as some instant oatmeal and granola bars. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure (see note re: river path above). There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.
We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. We provide locally-sourced coffee in the cabin. Smart TV in cabin. Free Wi-Fi.

The room was pristine and cozy, I appreciated the fact that they allowed pets. My cats made themselves at home and were also relaxed. I've stayed here once before and I really, really appreciate these folks for hosting their beautiful homes to us. With such an amazing view of the river, I will definitely be back here in the future on my road trips to and from Florida

We had a good stay, the room was clean and cozy, as the name suggests. The balcony left a perfect view of the river. I was given access to a gas grill that gave opportunity for a few dinners there. The hosts were always accommodating and inviting. On the downside which wasn't a big deal for me was access to the river. The pictures suggest a cleared bank wide open to fish. I did not buy a Ohio license but if I had, the access would have been more than disappointing. The overgrowth was more than a machete could take care of. The host cleared a narrow path to a cove but other than that it's inaccessible.

Chris was an amazing host! Property was neat and clean and %100 as advertised! The area was quiet which was great for my dogs as they bark at every noise. Chris made check in and check out extremely simple. I highly recommend Lorobi’s pizza in Gallipolis if you’re in the area. We would absolutely stay again!
