Everything. The attention to detail at Casa Apuliae is extraordinary – my partner and I talked about it throughout our entire stay. It is also the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in, and we have travelled almost everywhere in the world. The bathtub is a dream. What truly makes the stay special is the host: you can feel in every small thing how much she cares. Bitonto is also an ideal base – Bari, Matera, Alberobello and the coast are all easy to reach.

This room and property was beautiful. Lory was a kind and helpful host. We chose Bitonto for our last 3 nights in Puglia due to its proximity to the Bari airport (about 15 min drive), but it actually turned into one of our favorite places on its own. It felt authentic, like we were experiencing real Italy, instead of just being tourists in some of the bigger cities. Every meal we had in Bitonto was excellent, including our top 2 meals (Il Quarto Storto Trattoria & Sale in Zucca), and they were all within a 5 minute walk of Casa Apuliae. The B&B is housed in a Palazzo from the 1600s (which we learned because we happened to there during Bitonto Cortili Aperti - an event where many historic properties open there doors to the town for tours given by local students). The room itself was beautifully decorated, with massive 15 foot high balcony doors that let in a wonderful breeze and provided views over the Cathedrale. We can't recommend this town, or Lory's fantastic B&B, enough.
It is worth noting that the rooms are all on the top floor of the Palazzo, so it is 60 stairs up and 60 stairs down each time you come or go. It is completely worth it for the views (and working off that big meal), but those with mobility issues should probably steer clear.
