Disappointing experience. Poor communication from the host — we had to text her first for check-in info. She was extreme

To be honest, NOTHING 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I recently stayed at this homestay with my friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Firstly, the communication before check-in was very disappointing. As someone who has stayed at numerous homestays before, this was the first time the host didn’t take the initiative to message us beforehand. We had to text her first to get check-in details, which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. Secondly, the host was extremely rude and unhelpful. I had informed her earlier that we were arriving with two cars. However, upon arrival, she told us that only one parking spot was provided and asked us to “discuss with the guard” for the second. When I questioned her about the inconvenience and distance of the parking, she responded very rudely, saying that “hundreds of guests have stayed here and never complained,” and even told us that if we didn’t like it, we could check out. Her tone and attitude were totally uncalled for. We had planned this trip weeks in advance, and it was incredibly frustrating to be treated this way. To make matters worse, the parking spot we ended up with was far from the unit, even though we were willing to pay RM10 per night. There were nearer spots available, but we weren’t allowed to choose — which felt very unfair and inconsiderate. Lastly, the cleanliness of the unit left much to be desired. Upon entering, we found cigarette butts on the balcony, and the balcony door was left open. This raised safety concerns, especially since we checked in late in the evening. The overall condition of the unit did not feel secure or properly maintained. In conclusion, this stay was quite disappointing. With better communication, basic courtesy, and a cleaner environment, this could have been a much more enjoyable experience. Sadly, I would not recommend this homestay and will not be returning.
