A beautiful old farmhouse in a dramatic valley. A great base for walking straight out into the mountains. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Loved the herdwicks.

George and the staff were great, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely awesome. Beds were very comfortable. Route planning with drinks in front of the fire was so Lake District.
There was nothing to dislike.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome to the world of Burnthwaite Farm, which seems to have a following all of its own!
The hosts were so helpful and friendly. The breakfasts and packed lunch were delicious. The location is just beautiful - a real hill farm, complete with beamed ceilings, dry stone walls and farm dogs, set amongst rolling, mist shrouded mountains above the deep, dark and mysterious lake. Breath-taking.
Very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and just a half mile walk to the path up Scafell Pike and to the all-important local pub! We loved it!
