Great location. Enjoyed being on the Fort Augustus Abbey plot which is both peaceful and full of history. The cottage was comfortable and on the whole enjoyed staying there. It’s just a short walk into town and to the canal and loch. A very picturesque area. Despite the negatives I would probably stay again if in the area.
Creaky floors upstairs in both bedrooms were bad. You couldn’t move without next door hearing you walk around. Crockery and glassware were not all clean. I washed most things before using them. Could have done with a blind in the living room but this had clearly fallen down at some point and not replaced. Some areas looked liked they needed some attention. Lots of rules and you had to get rid of your rubbish & recycling at the end of your stay in bins located down the service lane in a coded door container!

The location was outstanding and it was very peaceful. The property itself looked attractive and was cleaned well. It was very well resourced with kitchen utensils and general amenities.
Personally, I did not find the mattress on the double bed very comfortable. It could do with replacing. Some of the sporting facilities need a bit of TLC, including the gym.

Its location in Fort Augustus, ideally located to walk to all the attractions , shops and pubs etc
Hard bed, I know everyone likes different levels of comfort , but this would have been ok if recovering from a bad back maybe.
We couldn’t really use the seating outside our cottage as we expected to do, we anticipated enjoying the beautiful grounds and surrounding whilst having a glass of wine or two, but the area infront of our cottage resembled a motorway service station with all the commercial vehicles.
There was work being undertaken at the main building so we had 3 Ford Rangers and a Citroen bellingo parked outside, the 2 occupants of the Citroen spent most of the evening wandering about on mobile phones until 10pm
Not what you wished for when I had taken my wife away for a birthday surprise.
And the interior was furnished to a good standard, just a shame no one got round to finish grouting the tiles in the kitchen area or fixing the socket correctly.
