About this house rental
Perched on a grassy hill, this majestic home has sweeping views of Oak Bluffs Harbor and is just minutes from East Chop beach. Stylishly decorated and thoughtfully renovated, this charming property offers modern amenities and is the perfect family retreat. The first floor has living, kitchen and dining areas. The living area, just beyond the front entrance and open covered porch, has couch seating and a decorative stone fireplace. The large eat-in dining room has seating for eight. The kitchen has commercial stainless appliances, butcher block counters, a large island for meal preparation and table that seats four. The first floor also has a laundry room, powder room and queen bedroom with private bathroom. The four remaining bedrooms are located on the second floor. The primary Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, sitting area, work area, vaulted ceilings, and a stunning waterview from a private balcony. The second Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, sitting area and TV. Two additional bedrooms share a full bath in the hallway. The queen bedroom has a water view and small desk area. From the second floor, there is a set of stairs to the observatory, where there is bench seating and 280 degree water views of Nantucket Sound, the Steamship Ferry, and East Chop beach. A perfect spot to read, meditate, or watch the sunrise. Fronting East Chop Drive is a spacious outdoor stone patio and flower garden. The large wraparound porch is perfect for morning coffee, lazy summer afternoons and evening conversation. In the back, there is a stone patio with table, seating for six, umbrella as well as a large area for parking four of more cars in addition to the two parking spots along East Chop Drive. A large outdoor shower (6’- 0” L x 4’- 0” W) with hot and cold water and bench is appropriately located on the side of the house. Conveniently located steps from the beach and less than a mile from the heart of Oak Bluffs, this magical home has it all!

We had a magical stay at this lovely East Chop property. A true Vineyard beach house that had everything we needed for our week-long stay. Obi was superresponsive to our requests and made everything so easy for us. The property is perfectly located with proximity to the beach, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. And the front porch view is to die for. My morning coffee on the front porch watching the day start was the highlight of my trip. The outdoor shower was a morning ritual for all of us! I am delighted with my booking of this property for our trip, and I would stay with Obi again in a heartbeat.

Our Host Obi and Caretaker Omar were excellent communicators and quickly responded any requests. They both checked back multiple times to ensure we had gained access to the property and that things were in placed upon our arrival. Even the groundskeepers and landscaping staff that came were the most up friendly crew we’ve ever encountered. As they went about their duties making the place even more beautiful than the photos and upon our arrival they too were so helpful. The history and esthetics with the blend of a few modern amenities made the ambiance of the entire home picture perfect for our entire group. The location was perfect for us with access to the beach and shops in Oak Bluff and short drives to Edgartown and Vineyard Haven. The wives enjoyed the walking access to the docks and to the light house multiple times while the guys even had time to fit in 18 holes of golf at the near by course. The lobsters rolls we enjoy from a local near by eatery were good but we decided to try our hand and steaming our own. Obi had all the right pots necessary to make that happen.In fact they were so good we double down and dined on three pounders two nights in a row! We named them Busters because they were so big!!!Thanks Obi and Omar for making our vacation a most enjoyable and memorable one . You were exceptionally get host, we will be back!

We’ve been doing girls’ trips to the vineyard for over 10 years and this is the best house we’ve ever had. Views, location, furnishings, all top-notch. Great home base for those who wanted to walk to OB or just enjoy the view from the porch or patio.
