Location, location, location. Fabulous walking trail along Ness River and comfortable lodge.
No proper coffee in 2026! - instant coffee doesn’t cut it, it’s not the 1960s. A plunger? Yes… but what international traveller travels with whole or ground beans. In 2026 most international travellers would expect at least a Nespresso machine and pods.
Also, a power point somewhere near the main bathroom so guests do not need to find a spare bedroom with a PowerPoint for a hair dryer and nearby mirror. A curious omission, though to be fair, the main bedroom was rather cramped.
Toiletries were also rather old-fashioned..little mini bottles (a bit like 1950s motels) also no hair conditioner or body lotion and no face towels. Strange omissions given they are meant to be luxury lodges!

Unwahrscheinlich toll am Fluss gelegen! Ein paar Minuten weg von Loch Ness und Inverness. Wer eine ruhig gelegene Oase zur Entspannung sucht ist absolut richtig! Die Unterkunft war klasse, sauber und top ausgestattet.
Der Komfort, die Lage und die Möglichkeiten kosten entsprechend. Ist aber angemessen!!!

What we loved most about the location was the beautiful and peaceful setting along the River Ness. The surrounding nature is stunning, with plenty of opportunities for lovely walks, especially with the dog. The combination of peace, space, the river, and the beautiful scenery made this location truly special for us.
What disappointed us most was not the location itself, which is absolutely beautiful, but the condition and cleanliness of Benula. Considering the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard. The kitchen had crumbs and coffee stains, there were cobwebs in the rooms and bathroom, and some of the towels did not feel fresh or properly clean. Finding someone else’s fake nail inside the washing machine was particularly unpleasant and frankly disgusting. The property also shows clear signs of overdue maintenance, including peeling paint. For the amount charged, the level of cleanliness and upkeep simply wasn’t good enough.
