SCAM - DO NOT BOOK HERE
If we didn’t leave because of how bad it was the living room was really good for 6 people.
The whole place was full of damp and mold, I can’t upload pictures but it was everywhere! The place was unclean amenities were faulty and it’s in a horrible area. After 30 minutes of being there there was an unidentified group of males at the front door claiming to be a contractors for a broadband company they wouldn’t name and wanted to know if he could come and look at the WiFi and was asking when the house would be empty and when we would be in, how long we were staying there, how many of us there were, where we were from etc. We felt completely unsafe in the apartment and so packed up and left immediately. Contacted HOUST.com the owners of the property and they said speak to booking.com. Booking.com offered us £106 “good will gesture” to find another accommodation as we had nowhere to go. I stressed to them to confirm this was a good will gesture and nothing to do with my refund and they agreed. HOUST is now refusing a refund as Booking.com, despite telling me it wasn’t a refund, have invoiced HOUST as if it was. Booking.com tried to meet halfway with Houst and invoiced for the remaining £600 instead of the full refund. Houst declined. We have spent a further £1050 on accommodation elsewhere. I have been on the phone to these companies 24 times being batted between the two and have spent 2.8 hours on the phone all together. I have been emailed today by Houst offering a £200 refund as they offered to clean, 3 days into our 4 day trip. So all in all £1757.30 down and neither party wanting to take accountability. The external reviews cannot be real this was advertised to me as a 9.2 superb externally rated accommodation. JUST AVOID don’t use booking don’t use Houst go somewhere else. Disgusting and ILLEGAL!!
