Linwewa Villa is situated in a breathtaking setting with direct views of Sigiriya rock. The property itself is visually stunning, featuring beautiful architecture, lovely grounds, and a great private pool. The on-site staff were polite throughout our entire stay. The physical beauty of the villa and its tranquil surroundings give it immense potential to be an absolute dream retreat in Sri Lanka.
At over $350/night, we expected 5-star quality, but basic service was missing. Amenities were lacking: no hand towels, no soap replacement after day one, we had to request toilet paper refills, and we had to ask for our room to be cleaned on day one. Rooms lack internal connecting doors, leaving our 12yo daughter isolated at night (worth noting for families). The food was a little disappointing. Breakfast included lukewarm eggs, poor coffee, fruit and cheap toast—no fresh local breads or warm pancakes. For $10/person dinners, portions were tiny; curries had ~6 small pieces of mostly bone to share among three people, served with basic sides and water. Staff spoke minimal English, making communication hard. The manager only appeared briefly twice (to welcome us and to collect payment). With better operational management, food quality, and attention to detail, this could easily match its high potential.

The villa is beautiful, comfortable and clean with the most amazing views with magical sunsets by the pool. The location is also central to everything in the area. The staff were friendly and the food very tasty (although if you don’t want really want spicy food make sure you mention it!) We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights and would gladly return

This is a very unique property near Sigiriya. It has three large rooms, each with its own bathroom and a pleasant outside area with a pool. The view of the two famous rocks is fantastic and the fields surrounding it give it a quiet atmosphere. The hosts and especially the young man who was taking care of everything and preparing our breakfast truly made this stay unique. He made everything so that we feel at home and we can't thank him enough.
