Thal Sewana Homestay was truly one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a place we had booked and more like a home away from home.
We first met Saman when he accompanied us from Colombo to Sigiriya, and very quickly he became more than someone helping us with our travel — he became a genuine friend. His warmth, kindness, honesty and willingness to help made our stay and our overall journey much more special.
Saman also guided us while exploring Sigiriya and the surrounding areas, and some of our most memorable experiences happened because of his guidance. Watching the sunset from Pidurangala was absolutely unforgettable and remains one of the best memories of our Sri Lanka trip.
What impressed us even more was that his support did not end when we left Sigiriya. Throughout the rest of our journey, he continued helping us whenever we needed assistance, including arranging and connecting us with different support in other cities. Knowing that we could reach out to him at any point gave us a great sense of comfort while travelling around Sri Lanka.
The food at Thal Sewana deserves a review of its own. Everything was homemade, fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious. The quality was outstanding — easily some of the best food we had during our entire trip. Every meal felt like it had been prepared with genuine care.
The homestay itself is peaceful, comfortable and welcoming, but the real beauty of Thal Sewana is the hospitality and the people behind it. We genuinely felt at home.
I would highly recommend Thal Sewana Homestay to anyone visiting Sigiriya. If you are looking for more than simply a room — authentic Sri Lankan hospitality, excellent homemade food, local guidance and people who genuinely care about your journey — this is the place.
We arrived as guests, but left with a friend and some beautiful memories that we will carry with us for a long time. Thank you, Saman. We truly hope to meet you again. 🇱🇰❤️

Amazing location with a beautiful view on Pidurangala rock. Very friendly people who give lots of recommendations. Breakfast was perfect.

We loved the location of this property. It was quiet and relaxing, easy walk to both Pidurangala Rock and Sigiriya. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good wifi. Breakfast and dinner were both tasty. The restaurant area has such a relaxing feel with beautiful plants. It was kept so tidy and clean always.
