Staying here was like coming home after a long day at work and shutting the world off.
Home from home. Peaceful outlook from the rear of the house where the master bedroom overlooked lots of greenery and a you can see the river from a side view. Lovely village with a store that sold most things, a few pubs and some little walks. Close to a school which can be busy at start and end times, so if you're out and about best avoid these times as the roads are narrow at certain places.
There wasn't a BBQ as detailed so that was a bit disappointing as we are big BBQ'ers and it took me a while to get used to the electric hob and oven as we have gas and an airfryer.
I would sum up by saying that we don't normally return to places we've stayed but in this case, Dart Retreat really met all our expectations and more, and definitely consider booking again next time we're down there.
Only downside and it's not a massive issue, is that your can't park directly outside the property unless your have a small car like a Fiat 500, as its the last house in the block, the residents park at such an angle that you can't get your car past. We managed to get past on arrival to unload and again to pack on leaving but the rest of the week we parked at the end by the grass verge. Instructions are left to this effect.
I also had to buy a lemon squeezer but that's because I'm addicted to lemons, not a fault or dislike but something someone else might find useful.

The location, the cleanliness, the outdoor seating area.
Lockbox was not working properly. We were given detailed instructions on putting the waste out for collection but only given one black bin bag. I thought it was a bit much expecting us to supply our own. Same with dishwasher tablets - none supplied at all - that is very unusual these days. You are usually provided with at least a few to get you started.

Es handelt sich um ein Ferienreihenhaus mit eigenem Parkplatz vor den Gargen (auch wenn wir auf dem schlecht parken konnten, aber es gab noch eine Ausweichmöglichkeit, die Bewohner des Nachbarhause haben uns da sehr freundlich geholfen), Eines der beiden Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss hat einen Ausblick auf den Nebenarm des Dart-River). Die Zufahrt nach Stoke Gabriel war wider Erwarten sehr eng, aber damit muss man in SW-England auf einer selb organisierten Gartenreise via Mietwagen (bei der Fahrzeugübernahme unbedingt alles durchlesen!!!!) wohl rechnen. Dafür gab es in Stoke Gabriel aber auch einen Laden u.a. mit Obst und Gemüse und mindestens einen sehr netten Pub, sowie mindestens eine offene Gaststätte. Wir haben von Dart Reatret aus Coleton Fishacre und den Dartmoor NP (Haytor Rocks) besucht, beides sehr zu empfehlen.
Nur Kleinigkeiten.
