Large room, comfy bed. Smooth check in. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Good was good.

No option to get smaller portions of food at evening meal. Large portions but being elderly we left a portion of food at every evening meal.

Lovely property lots of history and staff were very friendly and helpful.fantastic breakfast and the food in general was very very good

The tv in the room was a bit far away and small to see the bathroom was a bit small but workable but I understand it’s continually being upgraded

The staff is super helpful. The hotel has a charming atmosphere. The food was great but watch out the meals are huge and we weren’t able to eat a starter and the whole main. Hartfully recommend!

The staff, the food, the location.

We paid extra to book a deluxe double room as opposed to a standard double room. However the photos and description of a deluxe room on booking.com, did not correctly reflect the size and style of the room we were given. It was much smaller, with very little furniture, the bathroom was tiny and the view was a flat felt roof (see attached photos). Having expressed our disappointment, We were offered an alternative room with the same disappointing size and appearance as our original room, and were told builders would be arriving at 8am the following morning to work on the balcony of this room, which was out of use. So we felt it wasn't a realistic alternative, and we would have to stay where we were. While the staff and food were great, I feel it is important to let people know that the room you think you are booking, may not be the one that you get.
