It was a beautiful room in a lovingly restored property located a short walk from everything you might want to explore. The beds were extremely comfortable and I loved being able to make a coffee in the room before coming down to a great breakfast.
A bit of road noise at night but that was manageable with ear plugs.

Islay House is a beautifully renovated historic home and we absolutely loved staying there. The house is within easy walking distance to all the town has to offer with lots of great eating spots and interesting shops. The Red Room was spacious but cosy with a super comfy bed and great shower area. There is a lounge that all guests can use and a lovely dining room to enjoy breakfast - including delicious homemade bread!! Tarni is just the most wonderful host - warm, helpful and all round lovely. We arrived as guests but felt like friends by the time our Woodend getaway had come to a close.
