This hotel is in a superb location, right by the bund and also by excellent shopping streets and tourist attractions. The rooms are lovely and views from the reception restaurant area and brilliant at night. It's a great base for exploring Shanghai. The breakfast spread was the best we had during our trip.

Very convenient, just a 5-10 minute walk away from Yu Yuan and 3 minutes walk to the train station. Located near the Bund as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is gigantic and spacious, able to fit 6 luggages.
Air-con at times can be a little wonky. When we tried to decrease the temperature, it felt the same.

Excellent location and wonderful stay!
I had a great stay at Blossom House On The Bund. The hotel is very clean, and the staff is incredibly courteous. The location is perfect—within easy walking distance to both the Bund and Yu Garden, with tons of food options nearby. Highly recommend!

The location is the strongest reason to book here. It puts you within easy reach of the Bund and the surrounding riverside area, so you can walk out of the door and be in the heart of the city with no transport planning. For anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time, this alone makes the stay convenient.
Communication was the main issue: very few staff members speak English, which made even simple requests slow and hard to resolve.
Housekeeping: our room had still not been serviced at 5pm. We had to call reception to request it, then waited in the lobby and asked to be notified once the room was ready. Nobody came to tell us.
Booking handling: on arrival I realised I had booked for one guest instead of two (my mistake) and asked to update the reservation and pay for the second breakfast. Reception confirmed the update, but the next morning we were stopped at breakfast because their system still showed a single guest. We had to go back to reception and lose more time sorting out something that had already been settled.
Lifts: the hotel spreads over several floors, with reception and the breakfast room on the 7th. Two (I am afraid) very slow lifts are not enough for the number of guests, especially in high season. Expect waits.
The bones of a good hotel are here, and the location is genuinely excellent. But the service processes, front desk follow-through and language capability definetly need to be improved.
