Tout était très bien sauf peut-être l'absence d'une chambre avec deux lits simples. (voir plus bas)
D'habitude nous louons un chalet avec 4 chambres dont l'une a deux lits simples pour les deux enfants.Cette chambre est adjacente à une autre chambre pour les parents qui surveillent les enfants. Cette fois-ci, aucune chambre n'avait deux lits simples. L'hôte nous a gentiment accommodés en fournissant un lit supplémentaire mais dans la chambre seule au rez-de-chaussée. on a du transporter le lit pliable au premier plancher et l'installer dans la grande chambre pour que les parents puissent occuper la chambre d'à côté.

Location, confort and the surrounding countryside. Beautiful cottage just like stated. Easy communication with the property. I definitely recommend it and would go back.

We had a really lovely stay at the chalet in Fiddler Lake. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature and peaceful views. The rooms were comfortable, the beds cozy, and the chalet was well equipped with games, which made it perfect for relaxing family time. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and, under normal circumstances, I would have happily given it a 9 out of 10.
However, there was one major issue that unfortunately left a dent in the experience.
Due to the heavy snowfall, there was a leak in the chalet. I noticed it and immediately informed the team via WhatsApp. To their credit, they replied within seconds and were very responsive. They asked for videos and photos from inside and outside the property, and even requested that I walk around the house to document everything. I had no problem doing this and was happy to help.
At the same time, I asked about the possibility of a late check-out. That message was initially ignored, despite multiple follow-ups, while communication about the leak continued. After asking several times, I finally received confirmation on the actual day of departure that we could stay a bit longer. That was appreciated.
Because of the uncertainty, I had already started packing preventively, which turned out to be a good decision.
When we left for a short walk around 9 a.m., we noticed a car parked in front of the chalet with its lights on. It felt unusual but we didn’t think much of it. When we returned shortly after the original check-out time, our code no longer worked and we had to call to get access again. They gave us a new code, which was fine.
However, when we arrived back, there were now two cars facing the chalet with strong headlights pointed directly at us, which felt quite uncomfortable. Shortly after, a man driving a RAM approached us in a rather impolite manner and asked if we knew the check-out time. I explained that we had requested and received approval /CONTINUING BELOW
for a late check-out. He left.
Meanwhile, the person on WhatsApp informed us that they could no longer grant the late check-out and apologized. I responded that it was okay, but that I needed about an hour to finish packing the remaining items.
During that entire hour, both cars remained parked facing the chalet with their headlights pointed toward us, even though it was already late morning. The RAM driver continued circling the property and at one point even blocked us as we were preparing to leave.
It was incredibly stressful and, unfortunately, this became our final memory of the stay — feeling rushed out under pressure, almost as if we had done something wrong.
The chalet itself is wonderful. The setting is beautiful. The stay was largely enjoyable. But the way the departure was handled significantly impacted what would otherwise have been an excellent experience.
