Amea Baku Hotel

Cute little setup. For this price, you cannot get anything better than this in Baku. The staff makes all the difference. They are all helpful and polite, especially Mr. Farid who was an amazing host to us. The rooms are neat and clean, with air conditioning as well if needed. There's hot and cold water in the bathroom. They give amenities like soap, toothbrush, shampoo etc and a generous number of towels, bathroom slippers. Just all around a good hotel. And the breakfast, simple but fresh and delicious everyday. Oh and their complimentary Azerbaijani tea with sweets is present all day. I will also say to all the people who want to go to other regions like Gabala or Shahdag, the hotel hosts arranged for us the tour in a much much better price than what was being offered in the rest if the city, so I recommend their tours as well! Overall, for me, 10/10. Don't think about it much, go for it!

Clean rooms, stellar customer service and some of the nicest people. Special shoutout to Nihat at reception who was very cooperative throughout our stay and did everything possible to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Also the breakfast was simple yet effective since it was fresh and had just what you needed before setting out to explore the city

Narrow stairy Entrance

Breakfast, though not exactly matching the photos was very pleasant with fried eggs, quality bread, eggs, cheese and pretty good coffee. the main manager was polite and knowledgeable.

Multiple things are not quite as good as one would hope - hotel offered transfer from/to airport for 3x the cost Booking.com (with sign, etc) or local taxi app offered - NO room cleaning or service offered or by default - water provided in shared coolers, so if you did not bring your own bottle, settle for a tiny cup - shower pretty uncomfortable and obviously not well maintained - overall bathroom is ergonomically very poorly setup. No shelf to put things out, towel rack and sprayer leave no real space to use the toilet yet the corner of the bathroom is just ... empty - There is NO sign in front of the hotel. There was one but it is covered up. Confusing to say the least - entrance is immediately up the stairs. No help with luggage. - two staff areas, upon entrance and a main reception, and yet at times it is not easy to find a staff person - seems like at times family members are having gatherings in the dining area with tv blasting, while room is right across the hall - speaking of tvs - no tv package, only youtube (login on your own) option - Staff wise, nice guys, but the non main managers not only did not know how to operate card processing, were insisting on cash, and even pressuring for me to go to ATM right away. Main manager came in and solved problem in 5 seconds next day. - very cheap and basic mattress, you feel every spring. - windows facing a VERY busy side street with a 6am starting car wash (with pressure washing) and a tea house where people smoke just under your window. And no, despite being listed in description, no air purifier. - multiple things listed in amenities were not in the room but some, e.g. tea making ability were in the dining area
