Casa La Cartujita

Wow…that’s where I’ll start. Our experience with La Casa Cartujita was all that we hoped for on first ever trip to Columbia. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful. The property was clean and oh the fragrance that so delicately and strategically circulated throughout La Casa was so divine that I had to ask about it. My husband would sometimes react to fragrances but had no issues there. The entire place felt like a haven after a full day of roaming the Walled City. And the cool room (Electra) and plush bed were our own paradise. The Chef and kitchen staff made breakfast a delightful experience rather than something to check off your list before you head out. Everyday we were warmly greeted and before going out we were always asked if we wanted our room cleaned. The design layout, the stone work of the floor and walls, the decor, and the 2 living gardens are beautiful. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the staff that made our stay as awesome as it was. I would like to make special mention of everyone by name (but I can’t because I don’t remember them all) however, Maria, Loren Sofia, Chef, Chef’s Assistant, and my room attendant - May God’s blessings overtake your lives in Jesus name. I didn’t have much interaction with the 2 guys that daily maintained the property but I noticed enough to compliment you on your level of professionalism and attention to detail. The property is beautiful and the staff are very attentive and helpful. There was always someone available, even though the hotel has only seven rooms. Breakfast was delicious, with choices each day among a number of options and fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and breads accompanying each. The street is very quiet but well located within the walled city. The room was large and there are also several other places outside the room to sit and socialize. The pool is small but refreshing, and the jacuzzi on the roof is not set too hot, so enjoyable at the end of the day despite the heat outside. Really one of the most enchanting places I have stayed in a long while--it was a very memorable element to our trip to Cartagena!

The room and the entire property were super clean and quiet. The AC was only inside guest rooms and dining area, which made the upstairs lounge pretty warm. However, the rooftop lounge and jacuzzi were beautiful! Oddly, the hotel didn't have light blankets; instead using sheets to add warmth when we only had the AC set to 68, but everything was really lovely, and the staff was very attentive and helpful.

Absolutely amazing small boutique hotel in Cartagena. We originally booked 3 nights but ended up staying longer because of how nice it was. The rooms are good in size, very clean and modern. It was surprizing how good the sound-proofing is in this hotel even if we had a balcony facing the street. The street gets pretty quiet at night so we slept so well. Staff is super sweet. Made to order breakfast was fresh and was very fulfilling. We will definitely stay in Casa la Cartujita he next time we are in Cartagena.
