The Royal Victoria Hotel

Great location amd had a very relaxing stay.

If you want to keep an eye on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or be close to the beginning of the Llanberis path up Mt. Snowdon, this is the place to be. And, if its raining and cold, you'll be content to eat at the Hotel's pub. There's a short walk through the woods to Dolbadarn Castle which is, yes, a castle in Wales, and very picturesque. Breakfast is adequate- an arrival of multiple coaches may have you relocated to a smaller dining room which happened to us, but then we were not on anyone else's schedule so all was satisfactory. The hotel is convenient to local bus service and an easy walk into town for more stores, outfitters and restaurants. Staying in this Hotel gives you a connection to Snowdon's past as it has been present in some form for nearly 200 years on the site. Stay there, eat a healthy breakfast and begin your ascent. What's wrong with that?

I attended on UTS2026 as a volunteer and a competitor. This hotel is about 5 mins by walking to the start line of the race. The room was clean and had almost everything I wanted. I only missed a bath tub that I wanted to use after the race, but I only got a shower. The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was also fantastic. This was my 2nd time in the Royal Victoria Hotel. I am sure I will be back for another visit next year as I have an unfinished business with the race as I DNFed.

A one night stay to allow my son and I to stay over after climbing Snowdon. Perfectly located, a premium was paid because of this. A simple twin bedded room in the coach house, ideal for our needs. A bath was appreciated, bubble bath would have been a nice touch. Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. This was consistent throughout the hotel, especially the young man serving in the bar in the evening and also a waitress at breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was self service and substantial. Highly recommended. An all round excellent stay, £166, breakfast included and free parking.
