I think this pub used to be a local hunting pub. On arrival there were lots of men out the front who were just leaving, who looked to have been on a hunt that day. This made us a little nervous, however the staff were so friendly and lovely and our room was beautiful with so many little extras you wouldn’t think you would get from a ‘pub with rooms’, such as dressing gowns and slippers in the room. The restaurant was lovely and food absolutely delicious, they made an effort for our anniversary too which was a cute touch. Breakfast the following morning however was impressive- the menu was like a trendy, city brunch place with so much choice along with really good coffee, we couldn’t fault it at all. Although there’s not too much to do directly on the doorstep, I would definitely stay again.
I can’t really say there was anything I didn’t like.

Excellent team, that were helpful and polite. The evening meal and breakfast were lovely. The historic building and all it's quirkiness, was comfortable and clean.
I was staying for work and could not stay longer

Restaurant and bar
Shower had no grab rails and no shower caddy for body wash bottles. Too much carpet on walls window sill and wardrobe doors.
