The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant is lovely. The food was excellent.Although not very very generous on portions of vegetables.
The service was excellent during the lunch however a little disorganised at breakfast.
Nice touch of complimentary gin and tonic in the room . However when we asked for ice and tonic for the room it never arrived.
The spa facilities are in a lovely setting are small only 4 heated loungers so a little crowded. Best to go in quiet times. The outside seating is fab with outdoor heating.
Breakfast was nice but had to ask for several items during our breakfast.
We found all the staff to be very friendly a credit to the hotel.
Just a few minutes walk into Grasmere centre.

The room was spacious and clean, bath robes and slippers, complementary drinks, tea and coffee machine in the room. The bed was very comfortable and big and the shower pressure was amazing. They have a small spa, sometimes there's no one in there and you can have it all to yourself. It was a charming place and probably one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Special thanks to the staff, who are caring and always happy to help. Cannot wait to visit again.
