Breakfast and evening meal were really good - and reasonably priced too.
The menus for the evening meal included specials, bistro and restaurant. So much choice.

We had a great time. Staff were great (mostly) and really helpful and friendly.
Food in the restaurant was excellent, my wife and I loved every dish. The bar was well stocked with some great (and favourite) scotch so that was a bonus.
We arrived Friday and left Sunday and on the Saturday we had a late lunch which was lovely, sat outside in the garden with the local church in view.
Room was comfy and we had the bonus of a little private courtyard which was unexpected.
Our only negative came on Sunday morning when we came to breakfast. Saturday we'd opted for breakfast in the room which was good, one note, full English could do with either beans or tinned tomatoes as its a bit dry without. Good quality bacon and sausage though.
Sunday went to the breakfast location to be met by member of staff we hadn't seen before who informed us that breakfast wasn't here it was in the bar. I say informed, told us as if we were idiots for not knowing. She escorted us to the bar to a tiny table and asked if we knew about buffet. We didn't so she then took us back to the room we'd originally gone to where we found the buffet and dozens of guests waiting to order breakfast! Back in the bar we were the only people without young children. Obviously now walking back and forward to the real location for drinks and toast. We discovered as we left that there was a bridal fair on in the breakast room which would explain the banishment. Better communication and review would be excellent.

A superb hotel. Really helpful staff and amazing service. Food is really good.
We were there on the hottest day of the year so the bedroom was a bit warm. The fan supplied was very welcome.
