Plenty of free off street parking. Great atmosphere in the pub. Everyone was super friendly and the staff were great. Food was amazing. So glad we stopped here.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms, and an absolutely gorgeous railway carriage restaurant for a delicious (and not overly expensive) evening meal.

I was so impressed with our stay, we went to the gorgeously quirky pub in the evening after we checked in and felt immediately welcome amongst locals and visitors alike - a lovely community feel. The room was immaculately clean, unlike other pubs that I’ve stayed at and there was a basket-full of bits and pieces for a continental breakfast which was really handy in the morning. The landlord and landlady were so friendly, accommodating and genuine too. Our family of 4 stayed in a room with a double and 2 singles in a little wing next to the pub - no dragging bags and children up the stairs and quiet enough for the children to go to sleep before closing time for the pub. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we arrived quite late but that looked very well presented and certainly had the novelty factor as a repurposed train carriage. We used the hotel as a base for going to Cheddar Gorge as it was much better value for money and only a 25min journey away. I’m so glad we happened upon this characterful place instead of booking into a generic brand chain hotel. We would not only come back here if we were passing but would go out of our way to come back.
