The staff, bar and meals were really good and we enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are small (which is to be expected in buildings of this age) so be aware. We didn’t read the check-in details so be aware that 5.30pm in the earliest you can do this.

Great location. Room was very compact. No room to swing a cat in the shower. Strange layout to bathroom, shower built on 3 half steps, could be a huge fall risk.
Annoying green light from emergency lighting shining in the room all night.
Breakfast was delightful, however i would prefer my toast to be served the same time as the eggs, not the same time as the cereal. Toast and crossiant cold by the time i came to eat them.

Our room was a bit cramped, but well equipped and clean.
Staff uniformly friendly, helpful, and informal.
Breakfast excellent, with varied options, all splendidly cooked.
Bar friendly and below average prices. Reduced price wine and beer on certain nights.
