Incredibly beautiful castle, grounds and room. Highly advise a castle bedroom if you can! Very clean, comfortable and huge.
Biggest drawback was limited dining options during the week-same menu for lunch and dinner that gets boring pretty fast.
Breakfast was tasty and lots of options all included.
Close to Dublin- we didn’t have a car but 45 minutes by train and then 10 minute taxi made it easy (except book taxi ahead as Athy is pretty small).
Worthwhile for the luxury to stay in a castle!

Kilkea Castle is a beautiful facility with a long list of amenities. The service and attentiveness provided by the staff is second to none and helps make the stay feel like a true luxury experience. It’s a beautiful venue with lots of open space and places to wander. This was my second stay at Kilkea Castle and I will return when I have the chance. One of my best stays in many years.
My only minor criticism is that there was really no place to get a late evening snack or casual meal while staying there.
